Mohamed Salah is waiting to hear whether he will face punishment from Liverpool for claiming he has been ‘thrown under the bus’ by the Reds.
The Egyptian has caused a storm inside Anfield and beyond after petulantly hitting out at Arne Slot and figures behind the scenes for dropping him from the team.
There will be no hiding place for Liverpool or for Slot, with the Reds due to put on an open training session on Monday.

With the team facing another big Champions League match on Tuesday, the Liverpool head coach and one of his players will then speak to the media in Milan on Monday evening. No prizes for guessing what they will be asked about.
In the meantime, The Daily Mail report that Salah has already been to the Liverpool training ground since his outburst as he waits to hear whether he will be punished.

Although Slot may not thank the fixture schedule for a quick turnaround in matches this week, it will at least provide a fast answer for what Liverpool will decide to do with Salah.
As of Sunday evening, The Mail claim that FSG are still internally deciding whether or not to sanction the Egyptian.

The only punishment mentioned is that Salah may not travel with the rest of the squad for the game against Inter Milan.
Liverpool may also then decide to block him from being involved against Brighton on Saturday, the final match before he heads away to AFCON.
In the meantime, Salah’s presence at the training ground on Sunday is said to have been due to a planned recovery day for the team after Saturday’s draw against Leeds.
It would have been fascinating to see how Salah’s teammates reacted to him after what are being seen by many as self-serving and detrimental comments. Oh, to be a fly on the wall at the AXA!

Liverpool decision will hint at Salah future
What Liverpool decide to do with Salah over the next week will give a strong clue into whether he will play for the club ever again.
If the 33-year-old is reintegrated into the squad for Tuesday’s game, that might be a sign that he has had a sit down with Slot and the pair have been able to repair some of the damage.
But if Salah does not travel, it could well mean that he has already played his last game for Liverpool.
For now, FSG have shown that they are very much standing by Slot through the team’s poor run of results. That is unlikely to change because one of their star players has had a public tantrum.
From that point of view it does not look good for Salah, and although this would be a sad way for one of the greatest players in Liverpool history to depart, the truth is that he has simply done it to himself.
