Peter Crouch goes against supercomputer when making Leeds United vs Liverpool prediction

Liverpool travel to Elland Road for a late Premier League kick-off on Saturday.

Arne Slot’s side have fallen out of the Premier League title race already, sitting 11 points adrift of Arsenal after their 1-1 draw with Sunderland in midweek.

Liverpool sacking Slot this season is possible, especially if they don’t start picking up wins on a more consistent basis.

December 6’s clash did look like a great opportunity to secure a much-needed three points, as Leeds were in dire form and Farke’s role has been called into question.

However, the Whites smashed Chelsea earlier this week, and Peter Crouch now thinks they will add to Liverpool’s ongoing woes.

Peter Crouch’s Leeds United vs Liverpool score prediction

Speaking on That Peter Crouch Podcast, the former Reds striker explained why he is actually backing Leeds to win.

He said: “I think certainly at home. Leeds at home versus Liverpool. There’s some atmosphere there. I think this will be a tough game. I hate doing this, but I’m gonna go for Leeds 2-1.

“I don’t think they’re out of it yet. I don’t want this to happen, but you know, I’ll be happy in both ways because, you know, I want Liverpool to win this game.

“I just think it’d be a difficult place to go. And I don’t think they’re quite out of the woods yet. I think West Ham are a poor side at the moment.”

While Crouch expects more woe for Slot and co., Opta’s supercomputer makes the Reds favourites for the tie.

They give Liverpool a 55.8% chance of winning compared to just 22.1% for Farke’s men.

Ahead of the game, Farke has confirmed that Leeds will be without a couple of key names.

Speaking live at his press conference, he said: “No fresh injury concerns. We have definitely Daniel James and Sean Longstaff out as it’s a bit more long-term. We need to take some late decisions, like always, when you have such a quick turnaround.

“Lukas Nmecha with some hamstring problems, so we have to assess him if he’s available. Dominic Calvert-Lewin with a calf problem. We have to see who has recovered.”

Meanwhile, Liverpool have welcomed Conor Bradley back to training this week following a recent injury blow.

Joe Gomez played through a knock on Wednesday and trained with the squad on Friday.
