Luis Diaz has been a huge miss since Liverpool let him join Bayern Munich.
The Reds are usually very astute operators in the transfer market and hardly ever get things wrong, but on occasions they still do.
Although he was keen to leave, selling Diaz has proven to be a big mistake, with Liverpool struggling in this position while the Colombian thrives in the Bundesliga.
What is the answer to the left side of Liverpool’s attack?
Cody Gakpo has not quite been cutting it, which is why they have been linked with a number of targets, and some big ones at that.
And now, there is one player who has shown his cards early, with Liverpool one of the clubs keeping a very close eye on his situation.
Rodrygo is ‘open’ to a Premier League move
One of the names who was linked with joining the Reds when Diaz first left was Real Madrid’s Rodrygo, although the Brazilian saw his future in the Spanish capital.
But fast forward to now, and the winger is said to be a little unsettled after getting limited game time under Xabi Alonso, with this opening the door for a move.

According to CaughtOffside, Rodrygo is ‘open’ to moving to the Premier League should he not get more consistent minutes under the Spaniard.
Many teams are interested, though, and are making sure they stay alert to any development, with the Reds among the rest of the ‘big six’ vying for his signature.
Although any move might not be plausible until the summer, the report states that a January switch could still be in the offing due to Rodrygo wanting to ensure his place at the 2026 World Cup.
If this is the case, Liverpool are supposed to be one of the frontrunners to land him, with the Brazilian perhaps able to solve a big issue for them early in the new year.
Antoine Semenyo is a better option than Rodrygo
Although Rodrygo is a serial winner with plenty of experience at the highest level, he is valued at £70m, which is a lot of money for someone who does not get much game time at all.
He is yet to get a goal involvement this season, with his highest goalscoring tally in a single league campaign being just 10, suggesting he would not bring what Liverpool need.
Is Antoine Semenyo good enough to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool?
Whereas Antoine Semenyo, even though his highest tally is only 11, he has been far more consistent and is Premier League-proven.
He also has a release clause of £65m, making him slightly cheaper, so he would be less of a risk all round.
