Liverpool fans have had their say on signing Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in January.
Earlier this year, there were reports that the Reds regretted not signing Semenyo before the Cherries handed him a new deal.
But as the winter window nears, talk of a potential move for the winger is heating up, helped by Tim Bezbatchenko saying Bournemouth will let players join Liverpool if they wish.
Fabrizio Romano has since dropped a Semenyo transfer update, while a further report from David Ornstein has fans reacting with very similar verdicts.

Liverpool fans want another signing instead of Antoine Semenyo
Ornstein stated that the player has a £65m release clause, which could be activated during the next transfer window.
Now, supporters have taken to social media to make their feelings on a potential move clear, with many of the opinion that a defensive midfielder or centre-back needs to be targeted instead of Semenyo:
- “Liverpool don’t need another attacker. Semenyo could be our best left-sided winger despite Gakpo racking up G/A. However, you can’t get another attacker without addressing a defensive midfielder and centre back, hopefully Guehi. Those are two priorities.”
- “Still unsure if Semenyo will be RCB or the new DM. Unsure if he solves what we need but it’s bold I suppose.”
- “Semenyo will just be another addition. We need a CB and a DM.”
- “Should be addressing DM, CB and RB before even considering going for Semenyo.”
- “I like Semenyo but I trust Odobert for our LW position until the summer. The one profile we NEED is a DM. If possible, splurge on that in January.”
- “Look I like Semenyo, can see pluses in the potential, but leave it to the Summer, get Guehi in January instead and a defensive-minded midfielder before Semenyo also.”
- “Lads, how do we fit all these players in? Wirtz, Semenyo, Ekitike and Isak??? Semenyo must be the long-term Mo replacement surely? Also, DM and CB are such a big issue for us I’m worried we are targeting a luxury attacker when both need addressing first badly.”
- “I’m all for signing Semenyo in January. He’d be a brilliant signing and instantly starts for us, but the focus has to be on a CB and a DM first. Those are 100% more important.”
