Liverpool do not often get transfers wrong, but when they have, they have been major failures.
The Reds spent massively in the summer to give their squad a revamp, with many fans believing that this would help them defend their title with ease.
This has not happened, though, and they find themselves on a run of four successive losses in the league, with hopes of winning the title again all but over in October.
Nearly all of the new signings have failed to make the impact they would have hoped, with it starting to get to the period in the season where they can no longer blame it on not having enough time to adjust.
However, one former Liverpool flop has already suggested that sometimes players do not get the time they need to impress, with Brendan Rodgers said to have shipped him out the door before he got given a fair chance.

Andy Carroll believes he was not given a fair chance at Liverpool
Rodgers’ Anfield tenure was a rather strange one as they almost won their first Premier League title during this time, but they were also very poor before and after that anomalous campaign.
He was in charge when the Reds broke their transfer record too, with this being Andy Carroll for £35m from Newcastle.
He was a lethal finisher for the Magpies, but his form never really translated during his time at Liverpool, with the striker saying back in 2012 that Rodgers was to blame.
“I haven’t really had a fair chance at Liverpool,” Carroll said to The Mirror just over 13 years ago.
“I was really told that I should move on to keep playing regular football, and obviously then Sam [Allardyce] wanted me here and told me I would be playing regular games.
“Obviously, I didn’t really get a chance there. A new manager came in and I wasn’t part of his plans. For me to play football, that was my chance to do that.
“I think I could fit into every system. I believe in what I can do. Obviously he [Rodgers] has his beliefs and he didn’t think that.

“But for me, obviously, it was better to move on instead of waiting for my chance – which he told me might not come.”
Andy Carroll’s Liverpool career
Carroll played just 58 times while at Liverpool after joining in 2011, scoring 11 and assisting a further six.
In comparison, he had already scored 11 for Newcastle before moving to Liverpool in January 2011, showing how far he fell.
He was meant to be good in the air but the Reds never really played to his strengths, suggesting he has a point that Rodgers did not give him a fair chance.
He is certainly regarded as one of the worst signings Liverpool have made in quite some time, although whether that is truly his fault or not is up for deliberation.
