Liverpool won the mini-Merseyside derby 4-1.
Things are not exactly going to plan for the first-time right now, with four losses on the bounce all but ending their title defence despite it being only October.
Liverpool’s Under 21s had not been faring much better in recent weeks, however, although they put things right on Sunday afternoon with a win over Everton.
They came away with a rather dominant victory, with Rob Page likely to be delighted with the performance of all of his players after a good outing.
There is one player in particular, though, who stood head and shoulders above the rest, with the striker coming away with a derby day hattrick.

Keyrol Figueroa shines for Liverpool U21s
Liverpool’s U21s had gone on a run of four without a win, meaning their game against Everton was even more important than before.
A big reaction was needed and that is exactly what they did, with Keyrol Figueroa netting a hattrick to help his side get past their rivals.
The 19-year-old has been on fire this season for the Reds, with the striker now scoring five in seven league games for the club.
Despite his impressive performances, this was just his second 90 minutes of the season, with his third and final goal coming right at the death.

Right-back Calvin Ramsay scored the other goal, with Kaide Gordon picking up two assists, making it a good afternoon all in all for the young Reds.
Keyrol Figueroa could be the new Daniel Sturridge
Comparing young players to established or even retired players can be a little tricky given the pressure it might put on them, meaning that it was helpful when Figueroa compared him to one former star himself.
Due to his age, the players he grew up watching may make certain fans feel a little old, but one player he admitted he liked was Daniel Sturridge.
Figueroa himself said that he thinks he is ‘complete’ like the former Reds striker, with his performance against Everton highlighting just that.
It is certainly a better result for the U21s than they have had previously, with Figueroa playing a starring role, making him one to look out for.
