Mohamed Salah has been far from his best for Liverpool this season.

The Egyptian King is usually the man that Liverpool fans fall back on if things aren’t going to plan.

This season, however, something just hasn’t clicked as he’s only contributed to six goals across all competitions thus far.

Whether his poor form is down to him not being used to his new teammates or if he’s just lost his eye for goal, it’s something that needs to be addressed soon; otherwise, things could go from bad to worse at Anfield.

Despite this poor run of form, Salah is still one of the Reds’ best players, with Troy Deeney now saying that he thinks he’ll finally hit the ground running when Liverpool face Manchester United on Sunday.

One thing that Salah has always managed to do since arriving at Anfield is put in a good performance against Manchester United.

The clash is one of the biggest on the Premier League calendar, with fans from all across the world wanting to tune into the game.

And, although the Egyptian King hasn’t been his usual self, that hasn’t stopped Deeney from backing him to do the business against the Red Devils on Sunday.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if Mo Salah gets up and running in this game as well,” he said on talkSPORT.

“So, if you’re going to leave him with all that right-hand side against Luke Shaw, you’re in trouble.”

Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak need to get back to their best so they can help Mohamed Salah out at Liverpool

Going into the 2025-26 season, most Liverpool fans thought that they would easily win the Premier League and perhaps even the Champions League.

Richard Hughes and Slot chose to spend over £400million on new players this summer, and aside from Hugo Ekitike, none have performed all that well.

Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz were two of the most talked-about transfers of the window, and between them this season, they’ve only contributed to three goals thus far.

Admittedly, Isak hasn’t been able to play as much as he’d have wanted to due to his fitness, but he still should have performed better when called upon.

However, if the aforementioned duo can start to meet expectations and start finishing their chances, everything should end up working out as expected.
