Antoine Semenyo has long been linked with a Liverpool move.
In fact, over the last couple of weeks, rumours about Semenyo becoming a Liverpool player have actually started to gain some traction.
Talks of a transfer first started in the summer transfer window, but after Andoni Iraola sanctioned the sale of Dango Outtara to Brentford, a move for Semenyo was no longer possible.
Indeed, Liverpool already have some fairly impressive wingers among their ranks, such as Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah, but none of Arne Slot’s men have lived up to their usual standards thus far.

This has caused questions to be raised with Gabby Agbonlahor sharing who he thinks is the better player between Semenyo and Gakpo.
Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Antoine Semenyo is a better player than Cody Gakpo
Statistically, Semenyo has massively outperformed Gakpo this season, with the Cherries’ star man contributing to nine goals across all competitions, while the Dutchman has only chipped in with four.
It’s still early in the campaign, of course, so things can change, but on the face of things, it feels like Gakpo is half the player Luis Diaz was last season.
Many Liverpool fans thought that selling Diaz to Bayern Munich would be smart, but in reality, that’s been far from the case.
And now, with Gakpo’s poor form in mind, Agbonlahor believes that Semenyo is actually the better player of the two.
“I look at the league table, look at all the teams and name me a team he doesn’t start for on that left-hand side? Name one,” he said live on talkSPORT.
“He’s better than Doku. He starts for Arsenal if Eze plays in that number 10 position. He’s better than Martinelli and Trossard. He’s better than Gakpo, he starts for Spurs.”
Liverpool could make their team far better if they acquire the services of Antoine Semenyo in the future
Liverpool’s left wing is a massive topic of conversation at Anfield.
The fact that the club only have one senior left-winger is a tad baffling, especially after how much of an impact Diaz had on the Reds’ performance last season.
Of course, Gakpo and the Colombian often interchanged with one another at striker, but now that Diaz has gone, the Dutchman should be thriving.
But instead, it feels like Liverpool are much worse off than they were last term, which is far from ideal.

Semenyo is clearly an exceptional player, and since he’s only 25 years old, there’s still plenty of time for him to grow.
Bournemouth reportedly want around £70million for their star man, which, if his current form is anything to go by, is an absolute steal.
