Alexander Isak’s Liverpool transfer was one of the most reported stories of the summer transfer window.
There were several moments throughout the window when it felt like the striker wasn’t going to become Arne Slot’s player.
However, in the end, a £125million bid was enough to seal a move and get one of the Premier League’s best strikers to make the move to Anfield.
Although it’s still early in the season, it feels like a lot more should be coming from Isak with the Sweden international having less of an impact on the team than Hugo Ekitike at the moment.

And, while Isak has been away on international duty with Sweden, he’s made an admission that Liverpool fans may not like.
Alexander Isak has admitted that his footballing ability has worsened since joining Liverpool
One of the main questions about Isak’s transfer was whether he’d even be fit enough to play regularly after refusing to play for Newcastle in pre-season.
And, rather unsurprisingly, the answer to that was no.
Not only has this hindered him from getting used to his teammates and the way they play, but it has also put Liverpool at a disadvantage as they don’t have their full first-team squad available to choose from.
And now, after Sweden were beaten 1-0 by Kosovo on Monday evening, Isak has admitted that his footballing ability has regressed since joining Liverpool.
“There has been a negative development [for myself] now, at least during the spring and since the World Cup qualifiers began,” he said to Dagens Nyheter.
“There has been no progress, and it’s disappointing.”
Alexander Isak needs to prove to Liverpool fans that he was worth the £125million that was spent on him
Isak has been hounded by fans and the media, even before he joined Liverpool.
The Sweden international was one of the Premier League’s best strikers last season, and it was clear that Newcastle didn’t want to get rid of him.
And, although he did eventually get his move, the way he went about it could have been better.
At the moment, it’s unclear whether or not Isak’s move is going to work out as many would have hoped, but, since we’re not even 10 games into the Premier League season yet, there’s still plenty of time for things to turn around.

However, if they don’t manage to turn around, it could end up being a £125million mistake on the Reds’ behalf.
This would be far from ideal, and there’s no doubt that Isak will want to prove everyone wrong and get back to his best as soon as possible.
