Andy Robertson has had a lot to deal with at Liverpool this season.
During the summer, he was getting linked with a potential move to Atletico Madrid, but, in the end, he chose to stay put and fight for his place at Anfield.
Milos Kerkez was expected to be Arne Slot’s first-choice left-back this season, and, while that’s been the case so far, due to the number of mistakes he’s made over the last few weeks, it feels like he could be getting dropped soon.

And, after Scotland beat Greece 3-1 on Thursday evening, Scottish media shared their thoughts on the performances of their men, with Robertson earning a solid report.
Andy Robertson put in a good performance for Scotland on Thursday
It’s clear that Robertson still deserves to be a starting left-back somewhere despite being 31 years old.
The full-back may have lost some of his pace over the last couple of years, but his defensive awareness, coupled with his keen eye for a pass, are second-to-none.
And now, after playing against Greece, Scottish media have lauded the performance of their captain.
The Edinburgh News rated him a 6/10 and said the following: “Another decent showing from the skipper who performed admirably.
“Floated in the cross that led to Ferguson’s goal and nullified Karetsas’ threat well late on. Subbed.”
The Scotsman also lauded Robertson, with the Scottish outlet giving him a 7/10.
“The captain had his hands full all evening as Greece pummelled both his left flank and the other side looking for joy down the wings,” they wrote.
“Had a couple of desperate defensive moments, and the Greek opener emanated from his area of the pitch.
“Managed to nullify the precocious talent that is Karetsas when the teenager came on and floated in the cross that led to Ferguson’s goal.”
Andy Robertson needs to take Milos Kerkez under his wing and mould him into a younger version of himself
One of the main things that most people will remember about Jurgen Klopp’s time in charge of Liverpool will be how involved his full-backs were during their attacks.
Both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Robertson have found themselves among the top-assisting full-backs in Premier League history.
And, while the way that football is played may be changing, it still feels like there’s plenty of room in the game for inverted full-backs.
This is why Robertson, before he exits Anfield, needs to ensure that Kerkez is taken under his wing and turned into a younger version of the Scotsman.
Of course, he won’t want to mentor the player who’s likely to take his place, but with Robertson now being the vice-captain of the club, mentoring is a part of his job description.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen, but for now, fans will be hoping that some of the form Robertson put on display for Scotland will come back with him to Liverpool.
That is, especially since most fans thought he was going to be absent from the clash after he was seen limping off the pitch in Liverpool’s last game against Chelsea.
