Liverpool were one of the busiest teams in the transfer market this summer.
The Reds made a large number of changes to their first-team squad, with over £400million being spent on fresh talent.
At the moment, some of Arne Slot’s signings have ended up working out, whereas others still need some time to get used to playing for a team of Liverpool’s stature.
However, as well as a number of players being brought in, several were sold, while some were even sent out on loan.

This means that, upon their return, decisions will have to be made, and at the moment, it feels like Kostas Tsimikas could be sneaking his way back into Slot’s plans next season.
Kostas Tsimikas could replace Andy Robertson as Milos Kerkez’s backup
Tsimikas, who was once described as “brilliant” by Michael Owen, is currently on loan to Serie A outfit Roma.
The left-back was a stellar backup to Andy Robertson during his time with Liverpool, but last season, it was clear that a new starting full-back needed to be brought in.
Nobody knew whether Tsimikas or Robertson would be used as Slot’s second choice, but after the Scotsman chose to stay put, this meant that the Greek Scouser had to find himself a new home.
So far this season, he’s regularly featured for the Serie A outfit, and although he hasn’t notched a goal or assist yet, the fact that he’s playing almost every week at a high level shows how good he actually is.
Roma are second in the table at the moment and have only conceded two goals thus far, which shows how solid their defensive line actually is.
This is why it feels like Tsimikas could end up making his way back into Slot’s plans upon his return, especially if this defensive form is kept up.
Andy Robertson’s Liverpool contract still hasn’t been extended by the club
Robertson and Ibrahima Konate’s contracts are both set to expire at the end of the 2025-26 season.
At the moment, neither player has had their Anfield stay extended, but that doesn’t mean Liverpool haven’t been trying.
In Konate’s case, the Reds have been trying to extend his stay for as long as many can remember due to the interest shown in him by Real Madrid.
Robertson, however, hasn’t had the same offered to him, with no rumours of a new deal being shared.

If no agreements are reached with the duo by January, both of them will be able to talk to foreign clubs about a potential transfer.
Losing one of them, never mind both, for nothing would be far from ideal, even if there are a couple of players ready and waiting to take over from them.
In Tsimikas’ case, however, that would be the perfect scenario, especially if he wants to return to Liverpool upon the expiry of his loan deal.
