Liverpool have a lot of top-quality players among their ranks at the moment.

They’ve spent over £450million in the summer trying to improve their first-team squad while already having some of the best players in the world in their squad.

Last season, Arne Slot did the impossible and managed to win the Premier League title at the first time of asking.

This term, most expected the Reds to run away with the title and perhaps even the Champions League, but, at the moment, it’s unclear whether that’ll be the case or not.

Although the form of Slot’s men hasn’t been the best over the last 10 days or so, that doesn’t mean that the quality of their players has dropped off.

Under Jurgen Klopp, most football fans expected Liverpool to be challenging for the title during most seasons.

Of course, there have been occasional moments when this hasn’t been the case, but much of that is due to exceptional circumstances, such as injuries.

This season, although a couple of injuries have sprung up, due to the amount of quality that Slot and Richard Hughes brought in during the summer, anything but a title win would likely be seen as a failure.

That is, especially since players such as Mohamed Salah still have a lot to offer Liverpool, with Manchester City’s Josko Gvardiol saying to ESPN UK that the Egyptian is one of the toughest players he’s ever faced.

“Messi, Mo Salah, oh, I don’t know,” he said.

“Who else, Erling.”

There’s no denying that Salah is one of Liverpool’s best players of the Premier League era.

The attacker has had a massive impact on the way things have panned out at Anfield, with the Egyptian King often single-handedly carrying the Reds to three points.

And, although he’s managed to chip in with the odd goal here and there this season, there’s still a lot more that can come from him.

His teammates, such as Hugo Ekitike, have been the main players carrying Liverpool this season, but unless Salah gets his act together, it’s hard to see how the Reds will even be challenging for the title by the end of the term.

At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what will happen, but here’s hoping that, after the international break, things will turn around for the attacker and Liverpool.
