Liverpool may still be sitting at the top of the Premier League table, but that doesn’t excuse their poor performances in their last couple of games.
The Reds have lost their Premier League winning streak and were even beaten 1-0 by Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Of course, blips can happen in football, and they’re definitely expected to, but without the late goals they scored at the start of the season, the Reds would be in a terrible place.
There were things that could’ve happened differently in the summer, which would have likely helped turn things around.

However, with the January transfer window just a few months away, rumours about Liverpool’s plans are already beginning to surface, with some of their players even looking for ways out.
AC Milan think they have a ‘strong chance’ of signing Joe Gomez from Liverpool
Joe Gomez has been a Liverpool player for as long as many can remember.
The centre-back was brought to the club by Jurgen Klopp, and ever since he arrived, he’s been a first-team regular.
Injuries have hindered the number of appearances he’s been able to make, but on the face of things, he’s been a solid player for Liverpool over the years.
And now, according to Italian outlet Calcio Mercato, Arne Slot isn’t a massive fan of the Englishman.
The report outlines that AC Milan believe that they have a ‘strong chance’ of signing him in the January transfer window.
He’s ‘still a target’ for the Serie A outfit, with clubs from Germany and France also interested in acquiring his services.
Liverpool cannot let Joe Gomez leave in the January transfer window
Even if Slot isn’t all that keen on Gomez, there’s no way that the Anfield outfit can let him go.
Giovanni Leoni has just been ruled out for a year due to his ACL tear, so that means the Reds only have three natural centre-backs among their ranks at the moment.
This outlines how short they already are in defence, and letting Gomez go would be a rather silly decision, especially since they don’t want to sign Marc Guehi in January.

At the moment, Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are Slot’s preferred options at centre-back, but with the form that Konate has been in recently, it’s unclear how long the Dutchman will stick with that duo at the back.
That is, especially if they want to win the Premier League or Champions League this term.
Because, at the end of the day, the Englishman wasn’t dubbed ‘exceptional‘ for nothing.
