Liverpool may have received some terrible news ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace

Liverpool have managed to get their Premier League campaign off to the perfect start.

The Reds have won all five of their top-flight games so far and will be looking to extend that streak when they face Crystal Palace on Saturday.

To make things even more interesting, the Eagles are actually the only other team in the Premier League to also be unbeaten this term.

Both clubs will be looking to get one over the other, with Oliver Glasner’s men being the only team that have beaten Liverpool across all competitions this term.

However, ahead of their game, the Reds may have just received some rather unwanted news about Ismaila Sarr’s return from injury.

Ismaila Sarr could end up playing against Liverpool on Saturday

One player who always seems to put in a good performance against the Anfield outfit is Sarr.

The attacker has always caused Liverpool problems, no matter which team he’s playing for.

The Senegal international was one of the key reasons behind Watford beating Jurgen Klopp’s men 3-0 back in 2020 as he bagged two goals in just six minutes, ending the Reds’ unbeaten run.

Fortunately for Liverpool, the attacker was absent from the Community Shield final due to injury, but now, as per an update from Oliver Glasner via The Metro, it seems like the attacker is ready and raring to go.

“He [Sarr] had the full training week, the same as Adam [Wharton] and Eddie [Nketiah],” he said.

“We always nominate the squad when we think everybody is ready to start. I don’t know if he can play 90 minutes – I don’t know how intense the game will be – but he’s ready.”

Although most people know that Sarr is a difficult winger to deal with, for some reason, he always ups his performance when playing against the Reds.

And, with Milos Kerkez still being rather hot-headed, things could get ugly on that side of the pitch at some point on Saturday.

As mentioned, in the past, Liverpool have been thwarted by the talents put on display by the Senegal international.

In fact, Transfermarkt even say that in the seven times that the 27-year-old has played against the Anfield outfit, he’s scored four goals and assisted two.

Not only does this demonstrate how good a player he actually is, but it also highlights why Liverpool may be nervous about facing him on Saturday.

At the moment, it’s unclear whether his form will improve against Liverpool again, but if the past is anything to go by, Slot could find himself in a spot of bother in the Reds’ next Premier League clash.
