Liverpool have started the 2025-26 season off almost perfectly.
The Reds have won all five of their Premier League games so far, with the Anfield outfit also winning their Champions League and Carabao Cup matches.
The only game the club have actually lost this term came against Crystal Palace in the Community Shield when they lost on penalties.
Liverpool’s depth will be key to their chances of winning trophies this season, and now that Giovanni Leoni is out injured, that means Federico Chiesa can be added to the Reds’ squad.
The attacker was initially left out for Rio Ngumoha due to registration rules, but now that a place has opened up, the former Juventus man can be brought in.

And now, James Pearce has shared whether Liverpool’s fans can expect to see him on Tuesday against Galatasaray.
Federico Chiesa is expected to be involved in Liverpool’s Champions League game v Galatasaray
Even though Chiesa hasn’t played that much football for Liverpool this season, it’s clear to tell that he’s in a much better headspace this term.
The attacker has been the Reds’ most important player in a couple of games this term, with his goal against Bournemouth on the opening day of the season one of the main things to help Liverpool get off to a winning start.
Since then, he’s managed to put in a Man of the Match performance against Southampton and has caused problems for the opposition whenever he’s been brought on.
And now, according to a report from Pearce, it seems like the Italian will be available for Liverpool’s Champions League tie on Tuesday.
“Chiesa, 27, is expected to feature when Arne Slot’s side face Galatasaray in Istanbul on Tuesday,” he wrote in The Athletic.
“The Italy international was initially left out earlier this month due to UEFA’s restrictions on foreign players, but a new rule was brought in this season that allows clubs in the league phase to replace an injured player who has been ruled out for more than 60 days.”
Federico Chiesa could become very important to Arne Slot and Liverpool this season
There’s no hiding from the fact that, on his day, Chiesa can be an exceptional player.
Indeed, the 2024-25 season was way below his usual standards, but now that he’s going to be a part of Liverpool’s Champions League squad, there are plenty of opportunities for him to prove his worth.
At the moment, he seems to be the back-up for all three of Liverpool’s attacking positions, with striker being the only exception, that is, when Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike are fit, of course.

As for the other positions, however, the Italian has thrived when called upon, and if his form continues like this, his £10million fee will be seen as a bargain.
For now, it’s unclear how big a role Chiesa will have with Slot’s men this term, but the fact that he’s going to be included is a massive step in the right direction.
