Liverpool and Manchester United have been arch-rivals forever.
The two clubs hate one another so much that, when they face one another, they want nothing but a win.
Liverpool have a couple of rivalries in the Premier League, but it feels like their one with the Red Devils is most notorious by some distance.
Each season, the build-up to the derby is massive, with the Anfield outfit the ones coming out on top more often than not.

Despite Liverpool’s success over the last few years, that didn’t stop Ally McCoist from dubbing Ruben Amorim’s men as the bigger club of the two.
Ally McCoist still believes that Manchester United are a bigger club than Liverpool
Manchester United’s fans will likely want to forget what’s happened to them over the last few seasons.
If they’d have managed to win the Europa League final against Tottenham last term, it would have been a silver lining on what has been a difficult time for the club.
However, since Tottenham seemingly wanted the win more, they came away with their first trophy in years.
But, while live on talkSPORT, McCoist was asked who he sees as the biggest teams in the world.
“I think Manchester United and Real Madrid are out on their own, I do, that’ll cause a bit of controversy,” he said.
“Behind that, you’re talking about Barcelona, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, clubs like that.”
Jeff Stelling then asked why he’d have Man United ahead of Liverpool at the moment.
“Just history,” McCoist added.
“You know, and following and just stature around the world.
“Look, Liverpool are a massive club, of course, they are and a very successful one at that, but when I was a wee boy growing up, I just always remember Manchester United and Real Madrid being, if not in a different stratosphere, just out ahead of everybody else.”
Liverpool must prove why they’re now a bigger club than Manchester United
Man United’s history, coupled with Sir Alex Ferguson’s dominant years, is always going to boost their stature in football.
These are some of the main reasons why the likes of Bryan Mbuemo and Benjamin Sesko chose to join the Red Devils during the summer transfer window.
However, since they’ve had little to no success over the last few years, their history won’t be able to carry them for much longer.

Of course, they’ll always have that draw to them as they are one of the biggest clubs in the world, but as long as Liverpool continue winning the Champions League and the Premier League, it’s hard to see how they won’t surpass their rivals.
At the moment, it’s clear that any player would choose to join Liverpool over Man United, but in the future, Liverpool’s fans will want players to choose other clubs, such as Newcastle, over them.
And then that’s when their first-team squad will know their job is done.
