Liverpool went through a lot of change during the summer transfer window.
The Reds spent around £450million on their new arrivals, but they also sold over £200million worth of players.
Indeed, £450million is a massive amount of money, but if Liverpool want to keep competitive, the best way for them to do that is to constantly be upgrading their team.
And, to make things even better, their club-record signing, Alexander Isak, hasn’t even made his debut yet, which means that, when he does feature for the club, they’ll only get better.

However, with the number of players that have been brought in, there are still a couple of players among Arne Slot’s ranks who may be looking for a way out of Anfield either in January or next summer.
AC Milan are likely to make another bid for Joe Gomez
One player Liverpool were looking to move on in the summer was Joe Gomez.
The centre-back is one of the most versatile players among the Reds’ ranks, which makes him a rather important player.
However, seeing as though it seemed dead certain that Marc Guehi would be making the move to Anfield, the Reds were looking for a way to move him on, with AC Milan coming in with a £13million bid.
In the end, nothing came to fruition, but according to a new report from Italian outlet Milan Live, it appears that the Serie A giants are gearing up to make another move for the defender.
The report shares that AC Milan will make ‘another attempt’ to sign Gomez in January.
He managed to get in the ‘crosshairs’ of the Serie A outfit during the ‘final hours’ of the summer transfer window, but in the end, there were too many moving parts for a deal to be viable.
Milan Live also outline that there was ‘very little time’ to reach an ‘agreement’ between the clubs and conduct all the relevant tests.
However, with the winter transfer window approaching, Liverpool are readying themselves to receive another ‘serious attempt’ from the Italian giants.
Liverpool should only sell Joe Gomez if they manage to sign a replacement for him
At the moment, it’s clear that Ibrahima Konate and Virgil van Dijk are going to be Slot’s starting centre-backs again.
Indeed, some of Konate’s performances for Liverpool have been below par this term, but more often than not, he’s proved his worth.
Van Dijk is just Van Dijk, and, to be honest, when he does eventually exit Anfield, it’ll be a very hard task to try and replace him.

In Gomez’s case, however, it feels unlikely that a January exit will be sanctioned, as Liverpool don’t want to make a move for Guehi in January.
And that’s because, by the end of the 2025-26 campaign, the Englishman will be available for free, which makes much more sense for the Reds, especially since they already have four centre-backs among their ranks.
Of course, it’s also up to Gomez, but, in reality, it feels unlikely that Gomez will be leaving Anfield this January, that is, especially since Lewis Steele dubbed the Englishman a ‘vital‘ part of Slot’s set-up.
