Liverpool are set to get their Premier League campaign underway once again with their next clash coming against Burnley on Sunday.

Arne Slot’s men are set to travel down to Turf Moor to face their first newly-promoted side of the season.

Liverpool have managed to get off to the perfect start in the top flight this term, with the club winning their first three games and having nine points to their name.

Curtis Jones is the only Liverpool player guaranteed to miss out on the clash, but since Alexander Isak isn’t fully fit yet, it would be a surprise to see him starting on Sunday.

And, ahead of the game, Burnley’s manager Scott Parker has provided an injury update on the current availability among his ranks.

Connor Roberts and Jordan Beyer are set to miss Burnley’s game v Liverpool

Burnley have had a tough time of it since they were promoted back to the Premier League.

The Clarets have been something of a yo-yo club over the last few seasons, and although they managed to beat Sunderland, they lost their two other games against Manchester United and Tottenham.

Indeed, Parker’s men have been handed the short end of the stick when it comes to their run of fixtures and, although they have shown signs of improvement, the fact that they’re set to be without four of their players against Liverpool is a cause for concern.

Parker, while speaking in his press conference in quotes relayed by the Burnley Express, gave an update on the fitness of Connor Roberts, Jordan Beyer and Hjalmar Ekdal.

“He’s [Ekdal] okay, yeah,” he said.

“He came off [for Sweden] because he felt a little something, but it’s nothing severe. He trained with us today, so he’s okay.”

Parker then gave an update on the rest of his players: “We’re fine,” he said,

“We are where we are and where we have been really. All players came back fit and healthy from international break, so we’re pretty solid there.

“He’s [Roberts] back on the grass,” Parker said. “He’s reacting in the right way from his treatment but he’s still probably a few weeks away.

“But initially, from where we were, he’s definitely heading in the right direction. We’ll see how the next couple of weeks go when we pick up his work, and hopefully he comes through that and keeps improving, so we’ll see how that goes.”

Parker ended his injury update by saying that Beyer and Zeki Amdouni were still a fair distance away from returning, with Bashir Humphreys, Axel Tuanzebe, and Armando Broja all building up their match fitness.

Liverpool should easily win against Burnley on Sunday

One of the things that Liverpool have proven this season is that they’re not going to take any prisoners.

As mentioned, the Reds have won all three of their opening Premier League games and, with the way that things have panned out thus far, it’s hard to see how they won’t easily win against Burnley on Sunday.

Even though Isak won’t be fit enough to start the game yet, the fact that Liverpool can have a player of his quality come in off the bench for the last 20 minutes or so is mind-blowing.

Florian Wirtz also seems to have found some confidence while away on international duty, which could finally help Liverpool’s fans see the true quality of their new number 10.

Of course, this is football after all, so anything could happen, but with the amount of quality that Slot has among his ranks and the form that Liverpool find themselves in, it should be a walk in the park for them on Sunday.
