Liverpool have had a near-perfect summer transfer window.
The Reds have been among the busiest teams in the world this summer, and, with the quality of players they’ve brought in, it’s not hard to see why they’ve spent over £400million.
Players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have made the move to Anfield, and, with the way things have gone thus far, it feels like the Reds could be set for a rather exciting season once again.
At the moment, they’re sitting on top of the Premier League table with nine points to their name after beating the likes of Newcastle and Arsenal.

Indeed, they’ll also want to make a better name for themselves in the Champions League this time around, which is why depth was going to be essential this term.
Darren Bent believes Liverpool had a 10/10 transfer window despite not signing Marc Guehi
One of Arne Slot’s targets who did slip through the cracks this summer was Marc Guehi.
Even though Liverpool did all they could to try and get a deal over the line, Crystal Palace pulled out in the dying embers of the window as they couldn’t find a replacement in time.
Despite this, while live on talkSPORT, Darren Bent still believes Liverpool had an “A-star” transfer window.
“They’ve had an A star window, Liverpool, it’s got to be one of the best ever,” Bent said.
“It’s a lot of dough [Liverpool’s spending], in one window.”
Goldstein then replied with: “It’s an insane amount of money.”
Bent then added: “They do their finances well, they don’t buy for a couple [of] years, then boom, crazy, but to break the British transfer record twice, it’s nuts.”
Marc Guehi signing could have made it the perfect transfer window for Liverpool
Throughout the course of the summer, it’s been clear that Liverpool needed another senior centre-back among their ranks.
Indeed, they do have four at their disposal, but since Joe Gomez is rather injury-prone and new signing Giovanni Leoni is still just 18 years old, it feels like they’re one Virgil van Dijk injury away from a crisis.
Of course, Ibrahima Konate is also available, but with his contract still not sorted and after his first few performances of the season are taken into account, it’s unclear if he is going to be as good as he has been the last few years.

If Liverpool manage to get him to sign an extension this summer, it could be a whole different story, but if Guehi was actually brought in, he’d provide extra competition for the Frenchman and perhaps force him into playing better to fight for his starting spot.
At the moment, it’s unclear whether the Englishman not joining Liverpool will have an adverse effect on the Reds’ season, but on the face of things, Slot could have really done with another centre-back this summer.
