Liverpool have been the team to beat for the last couple of seasons.
Indeed, last term they were one of the most dominant teams in the Premier League and due to their solid performances, they managed to come away with the title.
And, now that they’ve spent over £400million this summer, there’s even more pressure placed upon their shoulders to try and deliver a trophy.
Of course, Arne Slot’s main goal this season will be to try and retain the top-flight title, but he’ll also have half an eye on the Champions League, with the Dutchman likely looking for his team to make a better name for themselves than they did last term.

Seeing as though players such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz have both been added to Liverpool’s first-team squad this summer, that feels more than doable.
Steve McManaman believes Mohamed Salah is better than Kylian Mbappe
Last season, Mohamed Salah was Liverpool’s best player by a country mile.
The attacker was the main reason that the Reds were dominant in the Premier League, as he contributed to over 50 goals.
And, when asked by GOAL USA who was better out of Salah and Kylian Mbappe, former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman said the following: “Oooh, I think it’s safe to say Mo.”
Mohamed Salah should thrive with Florian Wirtz and Alexander Isak playing around him
If rival teams thought Salah was annoying to play against last season, just wait until Isak and Wirtz get fully integrated into the Liverpool squad.
Last season, most of the Reds’ attacks went through Salah one way or another.
However, now that there are several world-class attacking talents among their ranks, it’s hard to see where the goals will stop.
Hugo Ekitike has already taken like a duck to water and although Isak has only just joined, his goal-scoring record from the 2024-25 season speaks for itself.

And, although some of Wirtz’s first performances have been described as “awful”, he actually started to show glimpses of the best version of himself in the second half against Arsenal on Sunday.
Granted, he may not have scored or assisted in that game, but if he can continue playing like that for the rest of the season, it feels like Liverpool will be impossible to stop, no matter who’s thrown at them.
