Marc Guehi’s future is still up in the air as he enters the final 12 months of his contract with Crystal Palace.
The centre-back is one of England’s best at the moment, and with the 2026 World Cup just around the corner, the 2025-26 season could be one of the most important of the Englishman’s career.
Thomas Tuchel will no doubt be keeping his eye on several players this season so that he can choose the best-suited players to take to America this summer.

And, with Guehi still being just 24 years old, there’s plenty of time for him to grow and prove himself as one of England’s most important players.
Dominic King believes Liverpool will sign Marc Guehi this summer
In January last year, Crystal Palace chose to reject a £70million offer for Guehi from Newcastle.
While the bid was more than fair, due to the Eagles already losing Joachim Andersen, Steve Parish didn’t believe his club could afford to lose both in the same campaign.
However, now that Guehi is in the final 12 months of his deal at Selhurst Park, his price tag has dropped significantly, with Palace now only wanting around £35million for his services.
And, while speaking live on talkSPORT, Daily Mail journalist Dominic King gave his thoughts on where the Englishman is likely to end up by deadline day.
“I think Marc Guehi will end up signing for Liverpool,” he said.
“I’m basing this around comments that Steve Parish made in terms of Crystal Palace can’t afford to let an asset like that go for free in 12 months’ time.
“The information I had the other day sounded like it was going in the right direction, but now it’s kind of paused a bit.
“I think this will end up getting resumed and there will be some kind of resolution.”
How Marc Guehi fits into Arne Slot’s plans at Liverpool this season
As many Liverpool fans will know, the Reds are already on the cusp of announcing a new centre-back as the transfer of Giovanni Leoni from Parma is close to completion.
The Italian was a regular feature in the Serie A last term, and although he can more than hold his own, he’s likely to be the Reds’ fourth-choice centre-back.
Guehi, on the other hand, already has an abundance of Premier League experience, and while he may not be as good as Ibrahima Konate yet, he’s not far off.

The duo would likely interchange with one another while also playing together on the odd occasion that Virgil van Dijk needs a rest.
Of course, this isn’t an ideal situation for Konate or Guehi with the World Cup just around the corner, but if both play to the best of their ability when called upon, everything should be fine.
