The new season might be right around the corner but Liverpool still have lots of work to do to their team.
The Reds’ title defence is only a few days away and after strengthening while at the top, the pressure will be on them to go back-to-back.
They have acquired smartly and also sold incredibly well, although there is still work to do in both these departments before the window slams shut.
Many names are being linked with a move to Anfield and the end of August looks a rather exciting one for Liverpool supporters, although some decisions might be considered a little questionable.
Jamie Carragher is just one of the people who have been left scratching their heads regarding certain situations this summer, with there being one move that he is really unsure about.

Jamie Carragher left ‘uneasy’ by Liverpool’s pursuit of Alexander Isak
Liverpool have spent close to £300m already this summer and if they get the targets they seem desperate to sign, this will only increase exponentially.
One player who will significantly increase how much they spend is Alexander Isak, with the Swede easily costing in excess of £110m.
However, despite the talent the striker clearly possesses, Carragher is very unsure about the move as a whole, with the former defender believing it will only negatively impact one of their new signings.
“I’m a bit uneasy because Liverpool have already bought a striker for a hefty sum of money,” he said to The i Paper.
“They do need two more attacking players, they need another striker and they need another wide player to replace what’s gone. But when you sign a striker for £80m – and I think this kid [Ekitike] looks a really good player – Liverpool have signed him to be the next Isak.
“I just scratch my head to think where he gets his minutes if Isak signs because you wouldn’t be able to leave him out, he’s that good a player and you’d have spent that much money on him. So I do worry a little bit for Ekitike.

“People say you need all sorts of different players and you do need that but sometimes you buy someone who is so expensive and so good they don’t have competition, they just play. That’s what Mo Salah has done for seven or eight years.
“The backup ends up getting frustrated, there’s no reason for them being there. If Liverpool get Isak am I happy as a supporter? Yes, he’s another great player. But I won’t be devastated if it doesn’t happen because they have a great prospect there already and he’s looked great in pre-season.”
All the signs point to Alexander Isak joining Liverpool
Whether Liverpool fans agree with Carragher or not, everything would suggest that Isak will end up at Anfield come September 1st.
The striker has told Newcastle he will never play for them again, even if he isn’t sold to the Reds, and even moved out of his house on Tyneside to really try and force a move through.
Hugo Ekitike might feel a little disheartened if he does join, but the Frenchman has also shown he is capable of playing on the left of a front three, to very good effect as well, suggesting he will still get plenty of minutes.
Isak is certainly a dream signing but whether he is actually needed is another question in itself, although August will be a telling month in whether a deal materialises or not.
