Liverpool’s summer transfer window continues to provide intrigue as the Reds search for some final additions.

Despite making four major signings so far, Liverpool are still in the market for more.

That, in part, is going to be funded by some big-money sales. The first of those took a big step closer to happening on Sunday as Bayern Munich agreed a fee for Luis Diaz.

And as Liverpool prepare to sell Diaz for around £65.5m, they look likely to use that money to re-enter the market. Here’s what they could do according to Sunday’s transfer rumours.

Liverpool could wait for Bradley Barcola

Diaz’s exit is going to leave a slightly gaping hole on the left side of Liverpool‘s attack. Arne Slot is going to have to fill it one way or another.

And according to ESPN, Liverpool have been considering several options regarding who could succeed Diaz.

Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes is said to be high on the shortlist, while they claim Richard Hughes is a big fan of PSG winger Bradley Barcola.

Barcola is reportedly not available this summer, though, meaning Liverpool will have to wait for future windows if they are to sign him.

Douglas Luiz on Liverpool’s radar

As Liverpool look to bolster their attack, and are absolutely certain to look for another signing in defence, the midfield has been overlooked this year.

Nevertheless, there is an argument that Slot will soon need to bring in more players in the middle of the park as well.

And according to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are interested Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz this summer.

Luiz has reportedly not turned up for pre-season training with Juve, and is said to have been courting interest from Liverpool in ‘recent weeks’. The Italians are claimed to be looking for £35m to sell the former Aston Villa man.

Liverpool have no competition for Alexander Isak

Of course, there is a possibility that Liverpool do not look for a direct replacement for Diaz and instead sink all the funds into buying Alexander Isak from Newcastle.

Isak has gone on strike at Newcastle, failing to join his teammates on their tour of Singapore and South Korea as he aims to force through a transfer.

And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool is Isak’s only feasible destination this summer.

The Reds are said to sense a ‘big chance’ to sign the Sweden international given his clear desire to join and the lack of any other club being in a position to do the deal.

Whether this goes ahead is said to be reliant on Newcastle’s position, but Liverpool are said to think they have a real chance of success.
