Liverpool supporters finally got to see their team in action again after a long week of waiting.
Technically, fans did not get a chance to watch the Reds, given their match against Stoke City took place behind closed doors on Sunday.
Nevertheless, once clips of the game at the Liverpool training ground were released, supporters were all over them.
Liverpool looked like they had fun on the AXA training pitches, demolishing Stoke 5-0, with Darwin Nunez getting a hat-trick.
But while Nunez stole the headlines and Florian Wirtz finally made his Liverpool debut, young Trey Nyoni also caught the eye once again.
Nyoni started the Reds’ first game of pre-season and after also playing the opening 45 minutes on Sunday, fans are getting excited about the 18-year-old all over again.

Liverpool fans predict first team role for Trey Nyoni
Arne Slot is clearly a big fan of Nyoni. Upon arriving at the club one year ago, the Dutchman made no secret of the impression left on him by the young midfielder.
Once the season began, Slot used Nyoni sparingly, however, and he only clocked up five appearances across all competitions, none in the Premier League.
But with the Liverpool head coach unleashing Nyoni once again this summer, fans are bewitched by what they’ve seen so far.
“Trey Nyoni is absolutely ready to be part of the first team squad. Doesn’t need to be loaned out,” one supporter said.
“Still early days so I’ll wait until the end of pre-season, but it’s looking really good for Rio [Ngumoha] and Nyoni, expecting them to start in most of our cup games for now.”

“Invest in Trey Nyoni stocks now before it’s too late,” another added, with one more remarking: “Once Nyoni gets on that fitness gains program long day. Top midfielder in the making.”
Meanwhile, other supporters predicted that Nyoni could be the long awaited replacement for former midfielder Thiago Alcantara.
“Nyoni is our Thiago replacement,” one fan simply stated, while another added: “Tell me you don’t see Thiago when watching Nyoni, the sequences below. Build, passing style, fizz on the pass too.”
Others claimed the teenager had shades of Paul Pogba.
“Trey Nyoni needs to be integrated slowly this year. I rate him really, really high,” said one fan. “Composure in deep areas, long legs to cover space, and can bend his body at a rare level for his body type (reminds me a little of Pogba). Really intriguing prospect.”
Will Nyoni play a part next season?
When compared to Jurgen Klopp, Slot has so far not been a manager who tends to lean too much on youth at Liverpool.
Some of that could be circumstantial, while it could also partly be that Slot simply does not think most of the young players at his disposal are good enough.
But, whatever the reasons, it is clear that Nyoni is an exception to that rule. The former Leicester City prospect is very much in Slot’s plans.
Quite whether that translates to a permanent place in the first team next season remains to be seen.
There is potentially a spot open in the Liverpool squad to be Ryan Gravenberch’s understudy, and there is a chance Nyoni could fill that. But it could also be that another year of steady development awaits the young man as well.
