Liverpool have already made a number of high-profile signings during this summer transfer window.
Florian Wirtz has joined Liverpool, and Wirtz could be an incredible signing, while Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez have also arrived at Anfield.
Liverpool also want to sign a new striker, and Alexander Isak has been consistently linked with the Reds.
Unfortunately, getting Isak away from Newcastle is much easier said than done, and speaking on the Sky Sports Back Pages Podcast, David Ornstein has shared an update on the Newcastle star and Liverpool’s interest.

David Ornstein says he’s sure Liverpool would go for Alexander Isak
Ornstein spoke about Isak and Liverpool’s interest in the striker.
According to the journalist, Liverpool would definitely be in for Isak if this door was to be opened, but the view is that Newcastle have no intention of letting their star man leave.
“The sale of Alexander Isak is not on the agenda for Newcastle. They want him to stay,” Ornstein said.
“They would love him to renew his contract. And so many clubs would, I’m sure, like to sign him.
“We know of Arsenal’s previous interest, Liverpool. I’m sure if the door was open, they would look to try and walk through it. But Newcastle don’t intend to open the door. And even if they ever could be tempted to, the price would be extortionate.
“Talk of sort of 150 million pounds. So let’s see what he wants to do. And when they return to preseason training and what his mindset is at.
“But for now, he’s definitely there to stay.”
Newcastle stars who signed for Liverpool
Liverpool are very keen on Isak, and if the Swede were to join the Reds, he’d join a decent list of star Newcastle players to make a move to Anfield over the years.
Indeed, many of Newcastle’s best players in recent times have ended up moving to Liverpool.
Newcastle stars who signed for Liverpool
Dietmar Hamann
Georginio Wijnaldum
Andy Carroll
Jose Enrique
Peter Beardsley
Alan Kennedy
Of course, not all of these transfers have worked out brilliantly, Andy Carroll was a noted flop at Anfield, but, on the other hand, Georginio Wijnaldum was brilliant.
Isak would likely be more of a Wijnaldum than a Carroll, but at £150m, he may well be an unattainable target for Liverpool.
