Harvey Elliott’s Liverpool future has been the talk of the town over the last few weeks, with the Englishman hardly being given any playing time last season.

And, now that Florian Wirtz’s £116million transfer from Bayer Leverkusen has been confirmed, it feels even more unlikely that the midfielder will get the game time he deserves.

This has obviously sparked conversations about where his future could potentially lie, with a plethora of Premier League teams being linked with an interest in the former Fulham man.

A fee worth around £40million is what it’s likely to cost a club to take him away from Anfield, which Darren Bent believes to be a “bargain” for a player of his calibre.

Teams such as Wolves and Crystal Palace have been linked with an interest in the 22-year-old over the last couple of weeks, however, Jamie O’Hara believes he could do a job in North London.

“100 per cent I’d have him at Tottenham. He’d play on the right and compete with Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski,” he said live on talkSPORT.

“Kulusevski is quite a similar player, but I think Harvey Elliott has got something about him.

“He can play in the number 10, further back in central midfield – there’s a lot to like and he’s only 22. He could definitely play for a team that is playing in Europe.”

After the performances that Elliott has put in during the Under-21s World Cup, he’s not likely to be short of suitors.

If he chose to join Wolves, for example, he’d likely become their key man with Vitor Pereira seeing him as a replacement for Matheus Cunha.

Of course, Elliott would likely thrive on this sort of pressure, but judging by their form from last season, it would be a lot of responsibility for him to take on, especially as they’re likely to be in a relegation battle.

And, while Tottenham may have James Maddison and Kulusevski in his current positions, he’d provide an extra option for Thomas Frank with his versatility being a key part of his game.

Of course, this is all just speculation at the moment, but on the face of things, making the switch to North London could be a smart move for the Englishman.
