Milos Kerkez’s future has been brought into question ever since he emerged as one of Bournemouth’s most important players this season.
Indeed, others will have had more of an impact result-wise, but with the way that the 22-year-old has carried himself this season, it’s not a surprise to see multiple clubs such as Manchester City and Real Madrid vying for his transfer.
The Cherries have had one of the best campaigns in recent memory throughout the 2024-25 Premier League season, but without the Hungary international among their ranks, Andoni Iraola’s back four would have been far worse off.

And, as has been the case for most of the summer thus far, it seems like a deal for Kerkez’s Liverpool switch is almost complete.
Ben Jacobs says that Milos Kerkez will become a Liverpool player
Talks for the transfer of Kerkez have been progressing nicely over the past couple of days, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that only one more round of talks would be needed to complete Kerkez’s Liverpool switch.
And, after appearing on The Football Terrace Podcast, transfer guru Ben Jacobs has shared his thoughts on how the deal is likely progressing.
“I would go so far as to say that they are going to get Milos Kerkez and Jeremie Frimpong is over the line, so it’s going to be a phenomenal summer for Liverpool,” he said.
Not only is the deal for Jeremie Frimpong done, but the fact that Florian Wirtz could also be undertaking his Liverpool medical this week proves how seriously Arne Slot is taking the summer window.
What Milos Kerkez’s arrival could mean to Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson
As Liverpool fans will know, one of their main problem areas this season has been their left-back.
Indeed, both Kostas Tsimikas and Andy Robertson have tried their best this term, but more often than not, they’ve come up short and have let their team down.
In reality, it isn’t all that much of a surprise to see Slot looking for a new left-back, especially with Tsimikas being linked with Juventus and Atletico Madrid.
If Kerkez is brought in, the Greek scouser would likely be demoted to third-choice left back and, at the age of 29, that’s far from ideal.

Should Tsimikas join either Juventus or Atletico, they’ll be getting themselves a more than solid defender who always puts on a strong display.
Only time will tell what the future holds, of course, but at the moment, it feels fairly certain that Dominik Szoboszlai will be joined by his fellow countryman at Anfield sooner rather than later.
