Liverpool’s transfer window is heading into a big few days as they aim to wrap up their first signings of the summer.
The Reds have wasted no time in attempting to get targets through the door early, with the market officially set to open on Sunday.
It would be a boost for Liverpool to get additions done in June, giving Arne Slot the chance to bed them in during a full pre-season schedule.
And after claims that Jeremie Frimpong could be announced on Sunday, with Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez not too far behind him, Liverpool are seemingly moving onto their fourth target of the off-season.
Over recent days, reports have ramped up that Liverpool are keen on signing £84m-rated Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt.
And according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Reds’ pursuit of Ekitike is set to enter into a crucial few days.

Liverpool in contact over Hugo Ekitike deal
Despite looking likely to sign Wirtz, it is clear that Liverpool still want to bring in a more orthodox central striker as well.
Alexander Isak was the dream target, but with the Newcastle hitman unavailable, Ekitike is a decent back-up option.
And speaking on his YouTube channel on Thursday, Romano claimed that both Chelsea and Liverpool have already been in touch over a potential deal for the Frenchman.
“From what I’m hearing on Ekitike, from next week we will know more,” says the transfer expert.
“Chelsea remain informed on the situation, also Liverpool. Liverpool are also attentive to the situation of Hugo Ekitike. So, these two clubs have already made some contacts to be informed on the situation.”
“The idea for Hugo Ekitike is to have more contacts in the next days with Chelsea and also Liverpool,” Romano adds.
“Liverpool are very busy in this moment, it’s not Ekitike joining tomorrow morning, but with Darwin Nunez expected to leave, Ekitike is a player appreciated.”
Liverpool’s striker options are dwindling
In the same update, Romano also confirms that Arsenal are pushing forward to sign Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
| Appearances | Goals | Assists | |
| Hugo Ekitike | 48 | 22 | 12 |
| Viktor Gyokeres | 52 | 54 | 12 |
| Joao Pedro | 30 | 10 | 7 |
Sesko has been linked with Liverpool, but it appears that the Gunners are now clear favourites to land him.
With Chelsea on the verge of signing Liam Delap and Isak not going anywhere, the strikers market is now starting to dwindle for Liverpool.
Viktor Gyokeres is still available, and perhaps he will be the Ekitike alternative, but Man United are trailing the Swede, meaning he too could shortly be unavailable.
There are other options to consider, such as Brighton’s Joao Pedro, but for now it would appear that Ekitike is the man Liverpool want.
