Certain Liverpool players have taken on a new status after being crowned as Premier League champions.
The Reds have a sprinkling of legends in their team, for whom this year’s success is their second league title at Anfield.
However, there are plenty more who are becoming champions for the first time in their careers.
Perhaps the outstanding player in this respect is Alexis Mac Allister, who has emerged as one of the most integral members of the Liverpool squad.
Mac Allister won the Premier League Player of the Month award after a brilliant April and is starting to get the wider recognition his displays for Liverpool have deserved.
Ever since arriving at Anfield in 2023, Mac Allister has been consistently excellent. But according to former Brighton teammate – and fellow Liverpool title winner – Adam Lallana, the Argentine has been delivering for far longer than the past two years.

Alexis Mac Allister was compared to Luka Modric
Lallana spent three years at Brighton with Mac Allister having signed for the Seagulls back in 2020.
Over the years, Liverpool’s No. 10 went from being a bit-part player at the Amex Stadium to being one of the main men.
This led to a well-earned move to Liverpool in June 2023. But, six months before he left even Brighton, Lallana was at pains to point out just what a ‘special’ player Mac Allister is.
“What a special player and a special person,” the former Liverpool man told journalist Graham Hunter in January 2023.

“He’s a player that is so pure in how he plays. The way he lends the football, he uses others, there’s no selfishness at all in the way he plays.
“He’s not the quickest, he’s not the strongest but he’s like [Luka] Modric. So smart, he knows that the football is faster than anyone, than anything. Alexis is of that ilk, he just is.
“He had to battle tough moments here at the beginning, he’s a very introverted, shy guy,” Lallana adds. “I always went out of my way to make sure he was okay because I knew he was such a wonderful person and player. Sometimes you just need time to adapt.”
Adam Lallana proven right on Mac Allister
Given it was a little while before Liverpool were even linked with the World Cup winner, plenty of Reds fans may not have heard Lallana’s appraisal of Mac Allister before.
However, having now seen the little man in action for the past two seasons, every supporter will attest that Lallana got it absolutely right.
Mac Allister has gone from strength to strength recently and is now one of Liverpool’s absolutely key men.
Links to Real Madrid persist, and given the Modric comparisons, it’s understandable why the Spanish giants would be keen on Mac Allister.
However, for Liverpool, that is simply the price you pay for having an absolutely brilliant footballer on the books. Hopefully Mac Allister can stay at Anfield for many years to come and become the Reds very own version of Modric.
