Liverpool might be confirmed Premier League title winners for the season, but the campaign isn’t over just yet for the Reds.

The Anfield side travel to Chelsea on Sunday in what is a massive game for the Blues, who remain in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League spot with Enzo Maresca’s side currently in the mix for one of the four remaining places.

With Liverpool also interested in signing Cole Palmer, the clash against Chelsea will have an added level of intrigue for supporters, with these two sides emerging as rivals in the last 25 years after numerous heated and important matches.

And Gary Neville has now given his verdict on who will win on Sunday, with Liverpool likely spending the week celebrating the title.

Chelsea could beat Liverpool after ‘massive’ Premier League title celebrations

Speaking on It’s Called Soccer, the former Manchester United captain noted how Liverpool could be sluggish against Chelsea after what was likely a heavy week of celebrating and drinking for the Reds after winning the title.

With Neville recounting his experience at Anfield on Sunday, celebrations have been rampant across the Liverpool fandom since the title win, with the players likely to have joined in on the festivities despite facing Chelsea on Sunday.

And Neville believes Chelsea could use this to their advantage, with the pundit saying when asked what he thinks will happen at Stamford Bridge: “I actually think Chelsea could win. I imagine that Liverpool have had a massive party that hasn’t ended.

“I suspect those who haven’t been drinking for a month or two that they’ve gone absolutely crazy, their bodies will just be shut down until Wednesday, they’ll train a bit slower, a bit sloppier, and I think they’ll be edged out, I think it’ll be 2-1 to Chelsea.”

Liverpool can prove Gary Neville wrong with a professional win vs Chelsea

It’s something of a stereotype that a team that wins the title with a few games left to spare packs it in for the final matches of the season with the players way more focused on their summer holidays and getting some much-needed rest and relaxation.

Yet from everything we know about Liverpool this season under Arne Slot, the squad will be as focused as they have been all season in getting all three points on Sunday, especially against a league rival in Chelsea.

Indeed, Liverpool will want to give it their all between now and the end of the season, and Slot will ensure that his players don’t miss a beat when it comes to giving it 100% in the final four games of the Premier League campaign.
