Liverpool have been regular users of the loan system throughout the years, with the Reds having mixed success this season.

Ben Doak has been the big winner this campaign with the Scotland international establishing himself as one of the most exciting talents in Britain after an excellent year out on loan with Championship side Middlesbrough.

Another youngster who has impressed this season out on loan is Stefan Bajcetic, who was likened to Sergio Busquets last month after consistent and brilliant form for Las Palmas, who the midfielder only joined in January.

And Liverpool are now believed to have a plan in place for what they want to do with Bajcetic once the Spanish youth international is back from loan.

Liverpool to evaluate Stefan Bajcetic before making decision

According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool will evaluate Bajcetic’s pre-season performances in training and in friendlies before making a decision on the 20-year-old’s future, with concerns still raised on if the youngster has what it takes to succeed with the Reds.

With Harvey Elliott potentially leaving Liverpool this summer as Wataru Endo eyes a return to the Bundesliga, Arne Slot turning to Bajcetic could make a lot of sense from a financial perspective for the Reds.

Indeed, Paul Scholes has told Liverpool that they could need six new signings even after winning the Premier League this season, with the Reds fully aware that additions are needed if they’re to compete again next year.

And if one or two midfielders leave Liverpool in the summer, Bajcetic could be an option for the Anfield side, with the Las Palmas loanee showing in La Liga that he has the quality to compete at the highest level in Europe.

Stefan Bajcetic could benefit with another year out on loan

Even with Las Palmas looking at relegation down to the Segunda Division, Bajcetic’s loan move to the Gran Canaria-based side has been a huge success this year, with the Spanish top-flight proving to be ideal for the midfielder’s style of play.

And whilst Bajcetic has the ability to fight for a spot in Liverpool’s midfield, Slot’s reluctance to rotate this season should be as clear a message already to the Spanish youngster that chances will be limited in the new campaign.

With Bajcetic impressing in one of the biggest leagues in Europe, there will be suitors for another loan deal this summer, and Liverpool need to be wise as to who they decide to send the midfielder to having already made a big mistake with RB Salzburg.
