Liverpool are Premier League champions, with the Reds handed a rare gift of now fully focusing on the summer transfer window.
Big things are expected in the off-season with Jamie Carragher predicting Liverpool to make six new signings in what would be the biggest squad overhaul at Anfield in some years, with some seismic moves in the pipeline.
Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to join Real Madrid, whilst Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez could both depart Liverpool in the summer, with a new attacker at the top of Arne Slot and Richard Hughes’ transfer to-do list.
And Liverpool could soon be about to start transfer talks for a former Everton star, who might be set for a return to the Premier League this summer.

Liverpool could make concrete move to sign Ademola Lookman
According to CaughtOffside, Liverpool are one of four Premier League teams who are planning to hold transfer talks to sign Ademola Lookman, who is expected to leave Atalanta this summer after a public falling out with manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
As per the report, Atalanta are demanding as much as €65m (£55m) for Lookman, with the former Everton star enjoying another productive year for the Serie A side having managed 25 goal contributions in all competitions.
| Ademola Lookman’s 2024/25 Atalanta stats | Games played | Goals | Assists |
| Serie A | 28 | 13 | 5 |
| Supercoppa Italiana | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| UEFA Champions League | 7 | 5 | 2 |
| UEFA Super Cup | 1 | 0 | 0 |
| Total | 37 | 18 | 7 |
Liverpool have been linked with Lookman for some time with the 27-year-old seemingly edging towards returning to the Premier League having last played in the division whilst on loan with Leicester City during the 2021/22 season.
Yet with Liverpool in the market for a new attacker and Lookman one of the most consistent goalscorers in Europe in the last two seasons, it makes sense why the Nigerian international is now slowly emerging as a major target for the Reds heading into the summer.
Liverpool fans shouldn’t be deterred by Ademola Lookman’s Everton links
Liverpool and Everton’s rivalry has been well-documented throughout the years, with history only seeing a handful of players feature for both sides throughout their careers, yet that could change with Lookman this summer.
Although the attacker made close to 50 appearances for Everton, Liverpool fans should not be deterred by the prospect of a former Toffee joining the Reds, especially with Lookman now a completely different player to the one who left Goodison Park in January 2018.
Indeed, Lookman has become the player he is today off the back of leaving Everton over seven years ago, and the versatile striker could relish a return to the Premier League with Liverpool to show his former employer just how good he’s now become.
