Liverpool needs just a point from their remaining five games to wrap up the Premier League title.
The Reds stand on the verge of one of the most dominant successes in the division’s 33-year history after Arsenal failed to beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday.
The Gunners have been faltering lately, and with four matches of their own left to play, can only match Liverpool’s current points tally of 79.
With the Reds set to face Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham on Sunday, they will win the Premier League by securing a draw at Anfield.
It could have all been over at the Emirates on Wednesday night. The Liverpool squad gathered to watch Palace against Arsenal in the knowledge that a win for the Eagles would hand them the title.
And after Oliver Glasner’s side secured a hard-fought point, the official Crystal Palace X account had a message for Liverpool.

Crystal Palace give Liverpool helping hand
It had never felt especially likely that Palace would emerge from the Emirates with a win on Wednesday.
Glasner and his team have an FA Cup semi-final to prepare for at the weekend and the Austrian’s starting XI reflected that.
But having gone behind twice, Palace deserve enormous credit for coming back to snatch a point. Jean-Philippe Mateta’s late equaliser was a moment of brilliance that will have been celebrated by Liverpool fans all over the world.
And having handed the Reds the chance to win the Premier League in their own backyard on Sunday, Palace acknowledged the part they’d played.

“You’re welcome Liverpool…” they wrote.
With many fans preferring to get over the line at Anfield, Palace lined up the perfect scenario this weekend. One. More. Point.
When do Liverpool face Tottenham?
In many ways, the draw was just about the best scenario for Liverpool supporters on Wednesday.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 1 | 33 | 24 | 7 | 2 | 75 | 31 | 44 | 79 | |
| 2 | 34 | 18 | 13 | 3 | 63 | 29 | 34 | 67 | |
| 3 | 34 | 18 | 7 | 9 | 66 | 43 | 23 | 61 | |
| 4 | 33 | 18 | 6 | 9 | 53 | 39 | 14 | 60 |
Obviously, it’s good to get the title sorted out as soon as possible, but having won their last championship in 2020 while not playing and also without any fans in the stadium, Liverpool fans feel they are owed the let off in the stadium.
Palace’s point means the pressure is off the Reds to get the win and that they are likely to get over the line at their own home. The celebrations are going to be incredible.
And after waiting 35 years for that moment, Liverpool fans now have only three days left to pass.
The Reds face Tottenham at 4.30 on Sunday afternoon, and could be the new champions of England by 6.30. Get ready folks, it’s really happening.
