Liverpool could soon be celebrating a Premier League title win if all goes to plan on Easter Sunday.
The Reds are within two wins of securing the championship, but could be crowned if they beat Leicester and Arsenal lose to Ipswich on Sunday.
While the red half of Merseyside prepares for a generational party, work is seemingly ramping up behind the scenes at Anfield to deliver a big summer transfer window.
Liverpool have been quiet in the market since Arne Slot’s arrival last summer, but that is set to change at the end of the season.
One player who is generating plenty of talk ahead of the summer is RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons. The Dutchman has had another impressive campaign in Germany, earning the admiration of some of Europe’s top sides.
Journalist David Lynch recently claimed Liverpool are ‘100 per cent’ interested in Simons as they look to add more creativity to their squad. And with the transfer window moving ever closer, the player himself has now spoken out on his plans for the summer.

Xavi Simons hints at RB Leipzig exit
After 18 months spent out on-loan at the Red Bull side, Simons permanently signed for Leipzig in January. However, in a slightly bizarre twist, it seems the 21-year-old will be up for sale come the summer.
Simons himself has now appeared to confirm as much, with journalist Florian Plettenberg sharing some interesting quotes from the Netherlands international after Leipzig’s 1-1 draw with Holsten Kiel on Saturday.
“I’m still a young player, I have many dreams – and the club knows that,” Simons said. “But right now, the most important thing for me is to play well in the upcoming games. Then we have the international matches, and after that we’ll sit down and see what happens.”
Plettenberg goes on to add his information on what will happen with the attacking midfielder, once again naming Liverpool as an interested party.
“He’s under contract until 2027. Top clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool and many others are all keen on him.” he says.
“Leipzig want €80m [£69m] for Xavi if he decides to leave this summer. A departure is possible for him.”
How has Simons done this season?
Although an attacking midfielder would not be top of too many supporters’ wishlists this summer, there is a clear need for more creativity within the Liverpool team.
A player like Simons could provide that. The former Barcelona youngster has racked up 30 assists in three seasons with Leipzig and PSV Eindhoven.
On top of providing for his teammates, though, Simons is also a proven goal scorer himself.
Having bagged 22 times for PSV in 2022/23, the youngster has hit 10 across each of the next two campaigns in Germany.
10 goals and six assists in 29 appearances this season tells the story of a young player who can get even better as he ages and develops. £69m is a hefty fee, but Simons is certainly one to watch over the coming months.
