Liverpool are ready to push ahead with a move for Sheffield United wonderkid Ryan One this summer, Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal.

The Reds have been tracking One since his time with Hamilton Academical in Scotland and have continued to monitor his progress since a move to the Blades in 2023.

And after being impressed by his performances at Bramall Lane, Liverpool are understood to be keen on accelerating a transfer.

One is attracting interest from across the Premier League and beyond, with Ipswich understood to view the 18-year-old as a potential replacement for Liam Delap.

However, sources have revealed Liverpool’s interest in One to be ‘red hot’ with the Premier League champions in waiting prepared to take on any rivals for his signature.

Liverpool readying Ryan One swoop

One has been used sparingly by Chris Wilder this season, making 13 appearances as Sheffield United make a push for promotion.

His lack of game time has not put Liverpool off, though, with the Reds understood to see huge potential in the teenager.

Arne Slot is keen to sign a new centre-forward this summer, although Liverpool’s pursuit of One will not impact a more senior option being brought in.

Instead, RTK understands Liverpool view One as being a signing primarily for the academy, with the possibility of progressing quickly through the ranks.

Tottenham’s signing of Wilson Odobert from Burnley and Newcastle’s deal for William Osula – also from Sheffield United – in 2023 are understood to be seen as yardsticks by Liverpool.

United – having already lost Osula – do not want to sell One as well. Nevertheless, the forward is keen on the move to Anfield and sources suggest he would find it a hard one to turn down.

Who is Ryan One?

RTK revealed Liverpool’s interest in One back in January, with the Reds weighing up a move for the teenager at the turn of the year.

But while nothing ultimately transpired, Liverpool’s interest is understood to have grown in the months since.

While One is not yet a regular in the matchday squad at Bramall Lane, his reputation as one of the brightest youngsters in the country precedes him.

Capable of playing across the forward line but primarily through the middle, One already has 50 senior appearances to his name, scoring five goals.

The young forward is also a Scotland U21 international, for whom he has two caps.
