Liverpool face Fulham this afternoon at Craven Cottage, yet before even kicking a ball this weekend, the Reds have been big victors in the Premier Leage.

Title rivals Arsenal dropped even points in the race for the Premier League with Mikel Arteta’s side drawing 1-1 away to Everton, with a controversial penalty decision allowing the Toffees to steal a result from the north London side.

The draw leaves Arsenal 11 points off Liverpool, with the Reds now having the chance to go 14 points clear of the Gunners with a win later today against Fulham, a result that, at this point, looks like a formality.

And Arsenal manager Arteta has now made a claim about Liverpool after Saturday’s draw at Goodison Park against Everton.

Mikel Arteta gives Liverpool ‘credit’ for continuing to win games

Speaking to the press after this weekend’s draw, Arteta gave Liverpool ‘credit’ for their ability to keep winning games in the Premier League regardless of their quality on the day or how intense their opponents are.

With Arne Slot breaking records with Liverpool seemingly on a weekly basis, the Dutch manager has cracked the code on how to win consistently with this side, even during games where the Anfield side appears second best.

And for Arteta, Liverpool this ability deserves praise, with Arsenal failing to maintain their winning streaks from the last two seasons this year as the Reds has steamrolled their way to the Premier League title in imperious fashion.

Arteta said: “Credit to Liverpool, the way they are winning their football matches. I’m talking about a reflection of what happened today, what was really relevant for the score. There’s no question that apart from that they had nothing, but obviously, that changes completely the momentum and the results.”

Liverpool know they can’t mess up the Premier League title now

There’s always been a slight hint of uncertainty heading into the final Premier League games of the season that Liverpool could somehow do the impossible and surrender their double-digit lead at the top to Arsenal.

Yet after this weekend’s result at Everton, it now looks impossible for Arsenal to catch up with the Reds, with a historic Premier League title slip-up now simply out of the question given how big the gap now is between the two sides.

Indeed, Liverpool have been the best side in England this year by some margin, and Slot will want to wrap up the Premier League title as soon as possible, starting with another win today away to Fulham.
