Alexis Mac Allister has been one of Liverpool’s standout performers this campaign, showcasing his importance to Reds against Fulham.

The Argentine has been a mainstay for the Reds under Slot, with Mac Allister even being compared to Luka Modric following his impressive midfield performances this season.

The 26-year-old was again at the heart of Liverpool’s early success against Fulham, opening the scoring with a sensational strike from range.

Reds supporters have since reacted to Mac Allister’s stunning goal, singing the praises of Argentine in the process.

Liverpool fans say Alexis Mac Allister is the Premier League’s best midfielder

Many may have expected Mac Allister to be unavailable for the trip to London, after being on the receiving end of a ‘dangerous’ challenge from James Tarkowski during the Merseyside derby.

Luckily for Liverpool though, the midfielder would be deemed fit enough to face Fulham, firing his side into an early lead at Craven Cottage.

While reacting to Mac Allister’s gaol, Reds supporters have been quick to highlight the 26-year-old’s form this campaign, even claiming he is now the best midfielder in the Premier League.

One fan said via X (formerly Twitter): “Mac Allister that is absolutely unreal. Best midfielder in the league right now, bar none.”

A third fan said: “Goes a little under the radar sometimes, but what a signing Mac Allister has been. Class act & a huge part of why our midfield has worked so well.”

“MacAllister is the best central midfielder in the world,” added another supporter.

Mac Allister repeats Fulham screamer

Mac Allister doesn’t score very often, but when he does – it’s normally spectacular.

Since joining Liverpool the Argentine has scored three goals from outside of the box, with the best of those also coming against Fulham last season.

BBC Sport pundit Clinton Morrison has also taken the chance to laud Mac Allister’s ability to score from range:

“It is an outstanding goal from Alexis Mac Allister. He is not the biggest player but he shrugs off Sander Berge and then Calvin Bassey has to come out and close him down.

“Take nothing away from the strike, it is fantastic. He cuts across the ball and he gives Bernd Leno absolutely no chance.”
