Liverpool are set for a big summer of spending, yet acquiring the perfect signing for every position won’t be a walk in the park.

The Reds are eyeing as many as five new additions with Arne Slot keen to improve his squad heading into the new season, where competing for domestic titles and the UEFA Champions League will be a top priority.

Whilst Liverpool are linked with the likes of Alexander Isak, the Anfield side are not the only team interested in signing some of the most appealing players in Europe this summer, even with the title of Premier League champions giving them a potential boost.

However, Liverpool now look likely to win the race for one of the most exciting prospects in the Premier League.

Liverpool in pole position to sign AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez

According to GiveMeSport, Liverpool are ‘increasingly likely’ to win the race for Milos Kerkez, who with AFC Bournemouth this season has established himself as one of the most promising fullbacks in all of Europe.

With TeamTalk claiming that Real Madrid are also interested in Kerkez, Liverpool securing the Hungary international’s signature would be nothing short of huge for the Reds, who need a new left-back heading into the new season.

With Liverpool also interested in Dean Huijsen, Bournemouth could become the latest Premier League club to become something of a feeder for the Reds, much like Southampton were almost ten years ago with signings like Sadio Mane, Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren.

Indeed, Jamie Carragher has urged Liverpool to sign a new left-back this summer, and Kerkez could be the ideal addition for the Reds, with the 21-year-old showing this season that he has a real future at the top in England.

Who else are Liverpool likely to sign in the summer?

With Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz likely to leave Liverpool with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah having their contracts expiring, it’s safe to say that a big rebuild is on the horizon for the Reds this summer.

As a result, virtually every position is down for improvement at Liverpool, with the right-back role, in particular, in need of a big addition this summer with Alexander-Arnold likely to join Madrid as a free agent.

Though it’s unknown how much Liverpool will have to spend this summer, there’s a good chance that club records could be set by the Reds depending on which deals are made first, with Kerkez seemingly a signing that could be made early on in the window.
