Liverpool are emerging as a potential suitor for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha, Rousing The Kop can exclusively reveal.

Nmecha has become an important player at Dortmund since joining in 2023, making 56 appearances for the Black and Yellows.

His good performances have attracted interest from the Premier League, and RTK understands Liverpool are now firmly in the running for the 24-year-old.

The Reds are in the market for a new midfielder this summer after failing to land Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad in 2024.

Reports have claimed Manchester United are readying a deal to bring Nmecha to Old Trafford this summer. But RTK have been informed that Liverpool is a more likely destination as things stand.

Arne Slot pushing for Alexander Isak alongside Felix Nmecha

As well as looking for a new midfielder, Liverpool are planning to go big on an addition up-front this summer.

Arne Slot has not been able to nail down either Diogo Jota or Darwin Nunez in his starting XI as a result of form and fitness issues.

And after turning in some impressive performances for Newcastle, Alexander Isak has emerged as one of Liverpool’s top targets to address this issue.

Having watched him grab the winner in last weekend’s Carabao Cup final, RTK understands the Reds are now working on a deal to bring Isak to Anfield.

Slot is a huge fan of the 25-year-old and has identified him as an ideal addition to his Liverpool squad.

What kind of player is Nmecha?

Nmecha has had some injury struggles since arriving at Dortmund in 2023, but has still been an important player at the Westfalenstadion.

“He brings balance to our team,” teammate Julian Brandt said of Nmecha in November 2024.

“He’s been consistently very good and stable now. He’s an incredibly dynamic player with a good shot and strong physicality.

“You get the feeling he’s like a sick person. He always gets to all the balls, chases them away and is extremely important for us.”

Having come through the ranks at Manchester City after moving to England as a 7-year-old, Nmecha joined Wolfsburg in 2021 before his move to Dortmund two years later.
