Liverpool’s forward line is one of the very best in world football this season.

The Reds have six fantastic options in attack, with the likes of Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez struggling to break into the team.

As well as some top players in the first-team Liverpool squad, the Reds also have plenty of attacking talent coming through the youth ranks.

Ben Doak has been catching the eye on-loan at Middlesbrough this season, for example, while there are high hopes for Rio Ngumoha.

Nevertheless, Liverpool are always on the lookout for ways in which they can bolster every part of the team, and the front line is no different in that respect.

And according to reports coming out of Spain, the Reds are keeping an active watch over one youngster to emerge this season.

Liverpool scouting Jesus Rodriguez

Despite the plentiful options available to Arne Slot, Liverpool might be in need of attacking reinforcements this summer.

Mohamed Salah could leave, while there are still question marks over the future of Nunez and others potentially as well.

As a result, the Liverpool scouting team will no doubt be keeping tabs on dozens of players across the world who could arrive at Anfield.

According to Spanish outlet PTV Sevilla via El Desmarque, one of those on the Reds’ radar is Real Betis winger Jesus Rodriguez.

They claim that Liverpool have sent scouts to keep an eye on Rodriguez, who has played all of his 12 games for Betis this season.

Reds talent-spotters were reportedly sent to watch the 19-year-old play against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, where he featured for 81 minutes.

Wo is Jesus Rodriguez?

Liverpool do not have an especially good track record when it comes to signing Spanish youngsters – although Stefan Bajcetic has bucked that trend somewhat.

Nevertheless, Rodriguez is well worth becoming familiar with. Since making his senior debut at the end of October, the teenager has forced his way into Manuel Pellegrini’s starting XI.

Rodriguez has now started each of Betis’ last four games, including against Barcelona in January.

He has repaid Pellegrini with one goal and one assist in his 12 appearances so far, with plenty more likely to arrive.

As ever with Spanish talents, it seems likely that Barca and Real Madrid will be well aware of Rodriguez’s talents, but it seems that Liverpool are as well. One worth knowing about.
