Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Arsenal striker said Liverpool need to do all they can to keep Salah when asked if the winger is now become a moments-player like Messi has transformed into during the latter years of his career.
With Robbie Fowler noting how good Salah has been this season despite not being active on the ball for the majority of the games, comparisons between the Anfield superstar and Messi are seemingly warranted given how good the Argentine legend still is despite doing the bare minimum.
Wright said when asked if Salah is worth the money for Liverpool despite morphing into a moments player this season: “If Liverpool are deliberating over the fact like: ‘Yes he’s having moments at this stage of his career, he’s at that age, should we take a chance?’ I’m going to take a chance.
“Because what’s going to happen is that Liverpool are in a progressive mode, they’re in the ascendancy, they’re going to bring in players, so even if he’s there but older, he will still have moments, it’s the kind of money I would spend.”
