Mohamed Salah has been on a different planet this season for Liverpool, with the winger arguably the best player in the world based on current form.
The 32-year-old attacker has been instrumental to Liverpool’s form this season, with Salah already on 40 goal contributions in all competitions with the former AS Roma man leading the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker standings.
With Rio Ferdinand backing Salah to beat Thierry Henry’s most famous Premier League record, debate over the winger’s future has only intensified with the Egyptian international in the sort of form he has been in this campaign under Arne Slot.
Indeed, Jamie Carragher has noted that Salah’s numbers are on par with Lionel Messi’s during his best years at FC Barcelona, and Ian Wright has now said what Liverpool need to do with their star forward with his contract expiring later this year.

Liverpool urged do all they can to keep Messi-like Salah
Speaking on Premier League Productions, the former Arsenal striker said Liverpool need to do all they can to keep Salah when asked if the winger is now become a moments-player like Messi has transformed into during the latter years of his career.
With Robbie Fowler noting how good Salah has been this season despite not being active on the ball for the majority of the games, comparisons between the Anfield superstar and Messi are seemingly warranted given how good the Argentine legend still is despite doing the bare minimum.
Wright said when asked if Salah is worth the money for Liverpool despite morphing into a moments player this season: “If Liverpool are deliberating over the fact like: ‘Yes he’s having moments at this stage of his career, he’s at that age, should we take a chance?’ I’m going to take a chance.
“Because what’s going to happen is that Liverpool are in a progressive mode, they’re in the ascendancy, they’re going to bring in players, so even if he’s there but older, he will still have moments, it’s the kind of money I would spend.”

What is the latest with Salah’s new Liverpool contract?
News surrounding Salah’s future has died down with the January transfer window currently ongoing, with the winger’s contract likely to be resolved once the market is closed next week, much to the relief of the Reds.
As of now, though, Liverpool insiders are torn on what is going on with Salah and his new contract, with the Anfield side seemingly yet to reach an agreement with the 32-year-old attacker, who continues to put up world-class performances for Slot’s side.
With PSG think about signing Salah this summer, time is running out for Liverpool to tie the forward down to a new deal, and the winger’s performances this season have more than warranted a blockbuster contract for the final years of his career.
