Diogo Jota names his favourite Mohamed Salah moment while playing for Liverpool

Liverpool fans have collected plenty of precious memories over the last eight years or so.

From the Reds’ ascent to being the best team in Europe once again, to finally ending their 30-year wait for an English title. It has been some ride.

Players have come and gone throughout that time, with some truly legendary figures passing through Anfield. When all is said and done, though, arguably none will leave a legacy greater than Mohamed Salah.

Salah has been the face of Liverpool’s success over the past decade or so and continues to work wonders with the Reds.

Unfortunately, it is starting to look more and more likely that the Egyptian King will depart the club once his contract ends in June.

We may have to start picking our favourite Salah moments with no promise of any more arriving. Having played with Mo for almost five years, Diogo Jota has gone early and picked his.

If Salah’s time at Liverpool does come to and end this summer, then what a scrapbook of moments the 32-year-old will leave behind.

From Champions League final goals to ridiculous assists and everything in between, Mo’s Liverpool career has had it all.

Jota hasn’t had a bad time of things himself and has bore witness to many of Salah’s greatest goals.

However, when asked by ESPN to pick his favourite moment from playing alongside the Egypt captain, Diogo did not find it especially difficult to choose.

“With Mo, obviously there’s a few more games to remember,” he said after naming his best Cristiano Ronaldo memory.

“But the goal against Man City [in 2021/22] where he dribbled past quite a few players, that was very impressive.”

As well as picking his best Salah moment, Jota was also asked whether the winger should be considered as the best player in Liverpool’s history.

“He needs to be in the discussion for sure,” answered the 28-year-old.

“I struggle to compare times to be honest, because it’s so different. But for sure he needs to be in the conversation.”

Given what he has achieved since arriving in 2017, Salah certainly has to be up there.

If he can sign onto a new deal and stay at Anfield beyond the end of the season, he may end that conversation for good. Here’s to hoping Salah’s very best Liverpool moment is still ahead of him.
