With the January transfer window open, there is always a chance that Liverpool will pull a deal from nowhere.
The Reds have not really come close to making any moves so far this month, but that can change quickly if the right player becomes available.
There are certainly areas of the Liverpool squad in which Arne Slot will be assessing potential additions in.
One of those is the forward line, where Liverpool are still a little too reliant on Mohamed Salah.
With Salah’s future still very much unclear beyond the end of the season, there’s a very real possibility that the Reds are going to have to replace the Egyptian in the next six months.
While that remains a dauting prospect, former Liverpool striker Michael Owen believes Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo could well be the answer.

Michael Owen urges Liverpool move for Antoine Semenyo
Liverpool have been linked with a whole heap of forward players to potentially come in and take over from Salah.
The reality is that none of these will be able to instantly step in and replicate what the 32-year-old offers at Anfield, however.
Instead, it seems likely that Liverpool would have to bet on a player who could come in and reach a higher ceiling in the future.
Having been terrific for Bournemouth this season, there have been some suggestions that Liverpool are looking at Semenyo as a possible solution.
And speaking to Premier League Productions via the Liverpool ECHO, Owen has thrown his backing behind a deal to sign the 25-year-old.
“Semenyo is a brilliant player, he scores goals,” says the pundit. “We don’t know if Mohamed Salah will stay or leave but, if he leaves, Semenyo should be his replacement.”
Liverpool not interested in Antoine Semenyo
While Semenyo has been linked a number of times to Liverpool since the beginning of the season, Rousing The Kop understands that he is not an active target for the Reds.
Having hit six goals and two assists this term, Semenyo has been an impressive figure for high-flying Bournemouth.
| Apperances | Goals | Assists | Chances Created | Dribble Success | |
| Antoine Semenyo | 20 | 6 | 2 | 22 | 57.9% |
| Mohamed Salah | 20 | 18 | 13 | 42 | 48.5% |
But RTK have been informed that the former Bristol City man is not on any transfer shortlist for Liverpool.
As a result, unless something drastic changes, it is desperately unlikely that Owen gets his wish.
