Liverpool look likely to be in the market for a new forward during 2025.
The Reds currently have six senior options available to Arne Slot, but there are real question marks over the futures of more than one.
Mohamed Salah may or may not sign a new Liverpool contract, while Darwin Nunez is likely to leave in the summer.
Reports have also claimed that Luis Diaz is unhappy with his contract situation and Federico Chiesa has been heavily linked with a move as well.
As a result, it’s no surprise to hear that Liverpool are assessing their options in the transfer market.
And after this week revealing that Liverpool explored a deal to sign Nico Williams last summer, journalist David Ornstein has now indicated whether he expects a new approach from the Reds.

David Ornstein shares Nico Williams to Liverpool update
Williams looked all set to join Barcelona last summer, however the transfer ultimately did not go through.
With Barca now likely to be off the table, Rousing The Kop understands that Williams is edging closer to a Premier League move.
Commenting on that prospect for The Athletic FC podcast, Ornstein again confirmed that top sides in England are still looking at the Spain international.
“All of these clubs wanted him last summer, the likes of Arsenal – Mikel Arteta is a massive fan of his – Chelsea, I think Tottenham were credited with interest. Some of that interest maintains,” he says.

However, when singling out Liverpool’s interest specifically, Ornstein says that there is currently no plan for the Reds to re-enter into the race.
“Liverpool looked into it,” claims the reporter. “I don’t think they took it any further and I’m not aware of them doing so in the future.”
Liverpool’s plan could change with Williams
Although Ornstein has played down Liverpool’s interest in Williams, he does also go one to say that the 22-year-old is unlikely to leave during the January window.
With a summer move more probable, there’s still a chance for Liverpool to bide their time in regards to Williams.
His near £50m release clause will have to be paid in full, which is obviously a big consideration.
But if, say, Salah does leave, that would free up a big space on the wage bill to justify a sizeable outgoing like that.
Liverpool have plenty of headroom in terms of PSR, so they would likely be well placed if their plans do change and they decide to re-enter the Williams race.
