Liverpool had to come from behind on Boxing Day but ultimately cruised to a comfortable win over Leicester City.
The Reds struggled throughout much of a stodgy first-half at a fog laden Anfield, with Jordan Ayew giving the visitors a surprise early lead.
But Liverpool never panicked and after Cody Gakpo gave the Reds a stunning equaliser just before half-time, three more points felt inevitable.
They still needed to kick off the second-half in the right way, though, and they did exactly that through a Curtis Jones goal just three minutes into the second period.
It was a big night for Jones who made his 100th Premier League appearance on the night.
And facing the cameras after the game, the Liverpool academy graduate revealed that he had been sent a congratulatory message from the man who gave him his first appearance: former Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

Curtis Jones reveals Jurgen Klopp text
Jones had a bit of a funny evening at Anfield on Boxing Day. Yes, the 23-year-old struck the all important second goal of the evening, but he was otherwise a little off his game.
Coming into the side to replace Dominik Szoboszlai, Jones was a touch too slow both with and without the ball during the early parts of the match.
Nevertheless, the No.17 was in the right place at the right time to bundle home Alexis Mac Allister’s pick out. And speaking to Optus Sport after the game, Jones admitted that he hadn’t realised he had reached the 100 Premier League appearance milestone. Asked how he found out, the midfielder revealed that it was Klopp who’d let him know.
“It was Jurgen!” smiled Jones. “I just came in then, we had a talk with the team and I just went on the phone, I normally text family and stuff and I saw a text from Klopp, he said ‘congrats on 100 games and here’s to 500 more’ or something like that.”

“I was like what’s he on about, 100? I’m on more than that! But I just checked the Instagram and 100 games, yeah. Proud, really proud.
“He’s [Klopp] on Instagram so he gets to see it!” Curtis added. “But that’s what he’s like, he’s still in touch with the whole team. He’s a great man and he’s still loved by us. It was him who set up the team we’ve got now, the foundation was there already and Slot’s just carried it on.”
Jones set to go again vs West Ham
This was a lovely moment. It’s brilliant to hear that Klopp is still in touch with the players he spent so long working with at Liverpool.
The German is still yet to return to take in a game on the Kop as he promised he would, but whenever that day arrives he is going to get some reception.

In the meantime, Liverpool are back on the road for their next outing in the Premier League.
After picking up a second-half caution on Thursday, Szoboszlai is suspended for the West Ham game. As a result, Jones looks set to get back-to-back starts in the midfield.
Although he’ll hope to be more on it right from the get-go on Sunday, he’s heading into that one with a goal and with Jurgen’s words of encouragement ringing in his ears.
