Mohamed Salah has been without question the best player in the Premier League this season, and potentially the entire world.
The Egyptian international leads the Premier League goalscoring and assist charts with Salah making league history on Sunday by becoming the first player to hit double digits in both stats before the Boxing Day fixtures.
With Liverpool expecting to announce Salah’s new contract before the end of the year, the Reds go into 2025 with a superstar on their hands in the 32-year-old, who is showing no sign of slowing down at all.
And Cody Gakpo has been amazed by what he’s seen from Salah this season at Liverpool.

Gakpo lauds Salah’s ‘very special’ Liverpool season
Speaking to Liverpool’s official website, the Dutch international was full of praise for his attacking teammate, who this season has been key to Arne Slot’s incredible start to life as the new Reds manager.
With Liverpool top of the Premier League, UEFA Champions League and into the League Cup semi-finals, all signs are pointing towards the Reds going the distance in a number of competitions, and Salah’s form has been instrumental to that goal.

Gakpo said when asked about Salah’s form: “I don’t know what to say! It’s very special what we are all witnessing. The amount of goals he scores but the assists he gives as well, the way he plays the game, how he puts other attacking players or midfielders like myself in a position to score and to be dangerous is from a high level.
“I hope for us and for him that he can continue doing that for a long time. We are very lucky to have him and proud that we can be his teammate and try to make him better. And he is trying to make us better as well.”

Salah is playing his best football yet at Liverpool
Salah has been world-class for Liverpool ever since the winger signed for the Reds back in 2017, yet this season might just be the forward has ever played for the Merseyside giants.
The Egyptian international is on course to become the Premier League Golden Boot and Playmaker winner with Salah leading the goalscorer and assist charts, a feat only ever achieved by Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.
And if Salah can remain fit, the 32-year-old could lead Liverpool to a second Premier League and Champions League title, with the attacker in unstoppable form for the Reds going into 2025.
