After refraining from splashing the cash in the summer, Liverpool are set to reinforce their squad in the upcoming transfer windows.
Arne Slot opted to stick to his guns and showed faith in the squad he inherited from Jurgen Klopp, with the Reds currently leading the way in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Liverpool have a squad with the right mix of youth and experience, but it’s not to say they can make any improvements to the current crop.
And if reports are to be believed, they have made contact to sign one of the most in-form players in world football this season.
Liverpool make contact with Ademola Lookman’s agents

The Reds’ attack is arguably their strongest on paper, but they have been linked with several players in this position so far.
Omar Marmoush has emerged as a target for Liverpool, but it has also been reported that Lyon’s Rayan Cherki has keen admirers at Anfield.
In addition to those claims, Sky Sports report that Ademola Lookman is attracting interest from Liverpool, with the Reds already having made contact with his entourage to explore the conditions of a transfer.
He was named African Player of the Year yesterday and is currently having one of the best seasons of his career for Atalanta with 11 goals to his name already.
The report also states that Manchester United and Chelsea are interested in his signature, with the 27-year-old ‘certain’ to leave the Serie A giants in 2025 as his stock continues to grow.
Lookman’s stats this season
Lookman has been described as a powerful player and is no stranger to England, having plied his trade with Everton in the past.
However, after an underwhelming spell in Merseyside, he was sold to RB Leipzig in 2019 where he began to get his career back on track.
| Ademola Lookman stats | Apps | Goals | Assists | Mins played |
| Serie A | 13 | 8 | 4 | 876′ |
| UEFA Champions League | 5 | 3 | 1 | 393′ |
| UEFA Super Cup | 1 | – | – | 90′ |
Lookman is one of Atalanta’s prized assets and has taken his game to another level under Gian Piero Gasperini this season as he ranked 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or.
Atalanta are gunning for the Serie A title this season so they probably won’t encourage a transfer in January. However, it remains to be seen what happens if Liverpool firm up their interest and launch a move for him in the summer of 2025.
The Blue half of Merseyside won’t be best pleased if a move comes to fruition, that’s for sure.
