As the calendar moves quickly towards January, transfer talk is set to take over at Liverpool once again.
The Reds have a number of outstanding issues to contend with in the market having stayed quiet over the summer.
Having since made a stunning start to life under Arne Slot, Liverpool look good for a tilt at the Premier League title this season.
In order to do that, some supporters will feel that a dip into the January transfer market will be necessary.
The winter window can be a tricky one to navigate, but some real quality has been added to the Liverpool squad in mid-season’s gone by.
Should the right opportunities arise, the Reds have shown that they will do business. And it looks like a slightly surprise chance with West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus may be about to present itself.

Liverpool set to pass up Mohammed Kudus chance
Liverpool have been linked with Kudus even before he arrived at West Ham. However, with his contract containing an £85m release clause, a move has always felt unlikely.
But with the Hammers struggling this season, journalist Graeme Bailey says that they are looking to strengthen in the transfer window.
According to Bailey, though, West Ham will need to sell before they buy in order to ensure compliance with PSR rules. “They can’t go and spend money without raising a lot of money,” the reporter tells Rousing The Kop.
But while Bailey says that this has led to West Ham potentially being open to a Kudus sale, the transfer expert does not see Liverpool getting involved in January.

“He’s clearly a player Liverpool know about, they were aware of him before he went to West Ham in the first place,” he says.
“If it were to be January I don’t see Liverpool getting involved then, it would be one if he was still around in the summer, that’s when they may be asking the question, shall we say.
“He’s a player they like but I don’t think he’s top of the list or at the top of their thinking at the moment and they still don’t know about Mo Salah so they wouldn’t be in a position to commit to anything,” Bailey adds. “But they’re keeping an eye on the situation and they know all about him.”
Liverpool need additions elsewhere in January
While Kudus could be a super signing for Liverpool, it’s safe to say that he should not be a priority addition.
The Reds could do with a new central midfielder as a matter of much higher urgency, while a centre-forward should be tentatively on the list, too.
The rest will likely depend on what happens with the futures of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold.
As Kudus could be a Salah replacement, it would be wise to get that done ahead of time if Salah is leaving.
But with the Reds still unsure which way that will go, they cannot justify such a big outlay on someone like Kudus just now.
