The November international break should give Liverpool a chance to make some progress with their ongoing contract negotiations.

With just over six months in which to sort things out, the Reds are growing deeper in danger of losing three crucial players.

And while Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold are both critical to Liverpool in their own way, the most concern for Reds’ supporters may well be over Mohamed Salah.

Salah has written himself into Liverpool history ever since arriving at Anfield in 2017.

Despite being 32-years-old, Salah’s importance has continued this season under Arne Slot, with the Egyptian having hit 10 goals and 10 assists in 17 games so far.

Salah’s exceptional form has led to plenty of hand-wringing over his contract situation, with former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch now explaining just what makes the No.11 so special.

Peter Crouch explains unique Mo Salah skill

Although there has been no movement on a new deal just yet, Rousing The Kop understands that Slot’s arrival has positively impacted Salah’s chances of staying.

The Egypt captain is enjoying life under the new Liverpool head coach and he and his people have an excellent relationship with the club as a whole.

On the pitch, things are going brilliantly as well.

And after Salah scored yet another top counter-attacking goal against Aston Villa last Saturday, Crouch has hailed the winger’s ability to take the ball with his back to goal and turn it into something dangerous.

“Salah for me is just a joke,” the pundit told That Peter Crouch Podcast. “I don’t think I’d take anyone above him in the Premier League, genuinely.

“He creates his own goals. You can play the ball into him with his back to goal, he can spin someone and just go and score from like the halfway line.

“There’s not many players who have ever been able to do that, and consistently doing it.”

Salah heads off during international break

Although it is unlikely to mean a great deal in the bigger picture, some may have deduced that Salah’s decision not to play for Egypt this international break could have positive ramifications in terms of his new deal.

The fact that the Liverpool legend was, in theory, able to stay locally at a crucial point in contract negotiations could have been seen as beneficial for pushing things along.

However, judging by Salah’s latest Instagram activity, he is heading off to the UAE this week.

The Egyptian King is seemingly slated to appear at the Expo Centre in Sharjah as part of the Sharjah International Book Fair.

As a result, Mo will not be on Merseyside for a large chunk of this crucial period. It may not mean much, but as Crouch’s words reinforce, this badly needs sorting and quickly. Salah is one of a kind.
