Liverpool couldn’t have dreamed of a better start under Arne Slot, who has won 15 of his 17 competitive games in charge of the club across all competitions.
The Reds made a massive statement before the international break with their 2-0 win against Aston Villa as they went five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table after their shock 2-1 defeat to Brighton.

It’s still early doors, but the Anfield faithful are starting to dream of lifting the league title at the end of the season.
And according to the results of a simulation from a supercomputer, their wishes might well be granted.
Liverpool given huge chance of winning the Premier League title

Liverpool have nine wins, a draw and a loss from their 11 league games so far and have racked up 28 points out of a possible 33.
Manchester City, as mentioned earlier, are five points adrift, while Arsenal have struggled in recent weeks and are nine points behind the Reds after their 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Sunday.
At the start of the season, Opta (via BBC) gave Liverpool a meagre 5.1% chance of winning the league title.
However, after recent developments, the Reds have now been given a 58.3% chance of getting their hands on the trophy at the end of the season, with Manchester City given a 38% chance of doing so.
The Opta Supercomputer also gave Liverpool a 49.8% chance of topping the UEFA Champions League standings, with the Reds currently occupying top spot after winning each of their first four games.
What next for Liverpool after the international break?
A trip to St. Mary’s to take on Southampton isn’t the toughest test they’ll face, but Liverpool take on Real Madrid and Manchester City at Anfield after that in a run that could define their season.
If the Reds manage to win both those games, the Anfield faithful will dare to dream big as they’d move further clear of the Cityzens in the league, while a win against Los Blancos will take them another step closer to making it through to the UCL knockouts.
